Around the Big East 18/19

Terrible last few days by the conference. Many of us thought we wouldn't be that down but the truth is, we probably are. We lost like 95% of the star power this past year. Now the Gavitt Game scores look like Duke playing low majors. The positive in this is that there's zero excuse for us to underwhelm in conference play this year. We should win 10 at a minimum before the BET.

This is a bad night for the conference. They could be run off the court in all 3 games.
Wisconsin pretty much dominated Xavier in Cincy in the 2nd half the other night,
Georgetown lone bright spot and that was a win over an Illinois team playing without a key starter Frazier and are not projected to be very good anyway.

Conference is there to be had this year.

Yeah, this is embarrassing but none of them are "bad" losses. All to NCAA teams, and the margin past 10 is irrelevant.

That said, I'm not very optimistic about this year's Big East. Good news is that SJU has a chance to do very well during conference play for once.

The Big East will be looking to salvage their reputation in the Gavitt Games on Thursday. I'm not sure these are the teams I'd want to do that if I were the Big East hierarchy, but you never know.

7:00 PM - Ohio St. at Creighton - FS1
9:00 PM - Penn St. at Depaul - FS1

Would be kind of ironic if Georgetown, Depaul and us (perennial bottom dwellers) were only BE teams to win in the Gavitt challenge. Probably a stretch for Depaul to beat Penn State though.
is it bad that i enjoyed every minute of villanova getting dismantled on their home floor?
Personally I'd wait to see if we survive the crew that Rutgers puts on the floor. Seriously, take a look at their roster.

Yes no value to us whatsoever, other than your personal pleasure of course.

First, you should root for all Big East teams against non conference competition. Second, Villanova has won two consecutive national championships and lost 4 first round NBA picks and still got national rankings. They have the respect of the college basketball community. We don't. When we are good as when Nova is bad we will be happy campers.
Have you given out the redmen.com business cards before games or are you not a team player anymore?;)

Don't take any pleasure at any of our Big East brethren losing to non-conference foes, especially now that UCONN and Cuse are not in Big East.

Not BE, but didn't want to start a new thread.
UCONN leads Cuse 38-32 at halftime. Yakwe has 1 point, 4 rebounds, 4 turnovers and 3 fouls. Our other transfer is apparently still suspended or at least a DNP.

Some things never change! I must admit, UCONN is ahead of where I thought they would be.

What would really sting is if he lands the top 2 bigs we have recruited for three years now.

He probably has a shot to get at least one of them. I will be pleasantly surprised if we get either of them.
