Around the Big East 18/19

A year older. He will try the NBA and if he does not make it will go to Europe. He is not going to wait to play here. We can all try and explain why it would be better for him but it will never happen.
I am sure you are right but on paper would make sense to be the man here and would help his chances.
I agree that if Mustapha has to sit this year, he’ll most likely leap ‘somewhere’ to the pros.
But he did frame his commitment in a two-year window and said he wanted to get his degree.
And the NBA would seem out-of-reach after a 1-year sit-out, plus leaving for Europe under those circumstances might impact the type of deal and with ‘whom’ that he could get—all of which might delay plans to return to the States and the NBA.
Just painting other possible scenarios, but yeah he’ll likely go pro...somewhere.

I think this kid had like 10-15 points against us in one of our games last season.

Looks like we play Marquette on New Years day... right around when he'd be back.

11 points and 5 boards when they beat us in Milwaukee.

His scoring high last year was 13, which he did three or four times.

Commissioner Delany re MSG

Delany said #B1G has talked with Madison Square Garden about the future. "We’re presented them with a powerful emotional plan. We think we can elevate Madison Square Garden to the next level with regard to the postseason. We will not play early."

This is why The Big East needs both St. Johns and De Paul to be good. Because New York and Chicago are huge markets and when St. Johns is good the buzz in the building and crowd is just different.

The Big East has a contract with MSG through 2026. Not sure how anyone else can slip in during that time if they don't want to play early.

Maybe they are waiting for 2027. Or they'll get in one year in the near future, we'll have to find a home for one year (maybe Wintrust or Verizon Center), and MSG will extend our contract for a year's deference. That's what the Barclays Center did for the A10, when the ACC took over. A10 had three years left on their deal, so Barclays just deferred the final two years. So, instead of the A10's deal ending in 2019 as originally planned, it now ends in 2021.
2027? Hell, I'll either be dead by then, or else so loopy it won't matter.
Or it will be the year that we´ll get a HS recruit.
Wasn't sure where to put this but Bleacher Report has Ponds as a 1st round pick in their early mock draft for next year. First time I've seen him make the first round in any mock draft. That's a good sign.

That Duke game will be huge for our players' pro prospects, because I assume Simon and Heron will spend a great deal of time covering the No. 1 and 4 players on that list. If we win and/or lock those kids down, then we definitely will have three kids listed on mock drafts.

Both leagues have 10 teams, so everybody should be involved every year.
