Yes they do. Who’s there best returning player?

As I and others have said before assuming they keep this core together (injuries/transfers) combined with a good class and Yurevsten being eligible that is a top 3 BE team next year. Villanova will be back to being an elite team next year and Marquette should be good and if Howard comes back elite again.
Are we sure nova will be back to being elite? They lose their by far and away 2 best players who are both 5th year seniors. Sure they have big time recruits coming in but what’s returning is not special.
They will need to rebuild. Losing Divencenzo completely blindsided them and Wright struck out with a few guys to make things worse. Quinerly was a huge swing and a miss.

Wright is the gold standard but he did a very poor job building a roster with crazy momentum he had built up with the two national championships.
We should have such problems.
A rebuilding year for Nova is still better than a decent year for 1/2 the league. I’d also sign for rebuilding after two national championships :) I’d settle for one. Ok I’d settle for a rebuild after a sweet 16.

Thanks for the update. I could not watch another game after that performance.

Our problems aside, there is still a lot of drama left in last week of BE season. 1st and 2nd place as well as 3 through 10 still up in the air.

They finish with 2 home games against Providence and DePaul. They could very well end up 9-9, and a better seed in the big east tournament, as I expect us to finish 8-10 now

For those wondering, for us to lose next weekend but still get a top 6 finish and a bye in the big east tournament.

Bottom 3 teams (Providence, Butler, DePaul). All need to lose one more time. PC/Butler play each other so one team is guaranteed to lose one more time. DePaul finishes with a home game vs GTown and @Creighton. Expect them to lose one of those.

Then you have seton hall, they are 7-9 and finish with two home games against Nova and Marquette. If they drop both of them, and the three teams above all lose one more time, we are guaranteed a top 6 finish

Your faster to criticize Jay Wright than you are Chris Mullin, and you mention poor roster construction which is funny. Villanova will be fine, this was their down year, they will be much improved next year. Too early to say Quinerly wont be a good player, he had hopes of being a 1 and done but he's a 3/4 year player in reality, nothing wrong with that. If he stays Wright will make an All Conference PG out of him eventually. Bey looks like a future star and Gillespie, Roundtree, and Samuels should step up like most Nova guys do as upperclassmen leaders. Quinerly, Swider, and Slater are talented guys who will just have to wait their turn. Add a top 5 recruiting class and its business as usual in supposed to be Philly.

Yes, but unless they are one and dones, doubt they will be elite. Freshmen are freshmen.

How sad.

#14, 15, 49 and 63 per 247. Whether Antoine and Robinson-Earl are one and dones remains to be seen but they're impact recruits. By comparison last year Quinnerly was 29.

Oh yeah! We have Caraher coming. Validir may be eligible. Steere may play more than one game before transferring again. Our point guard is a 1 n done......even if he doesn't start. Year 5 will be the year where we have 4 bigs. Unfortunately none can rebound or shoot the three.
We're not rebuilding, we're unloading. It will be the most mysterious team in St. John's history. We have no idea what to expect.......from coaches to players.
. I believe we have Cam Mack and Eli Wright , 2 guards coming in next season . Plus , a Big Man Transfer from NCStafe , who’s name escapes me . And , as you mentioned Carraher . I guess there is still some hope for Precious Achiewa?

Remember they have 4 highly touted freshmen this year, Saddiq Bey, Quinerly, Cole Swider and Brandon Slater. Swider is hurt and Quinerly and Slater have been brought along slowly. If he can get Quinerly right and the rest progress combined with this class coming in and the returning players (Cosby Roundtree/Samuels etc) Villanova will be a top 10 national team again next year. And this year they may win the league in a down year anyway.

At this point I am so confused what with NETs RPIs QUADs so for who or whom do we root for? (BTW I think the NET is rapped around my neck and is choking me!)

There are pros to both teams winning but I’d be pulling for a butler win

They have Mr. Wright. We have Mr. Wrong. It's that simple.
