Around the Big East 18/19

Agreed. G’town Up 4 with 12 seconds remaining. Govan has been brutal from the line. Now going back to the line.

Can’t see us beating Georgetown if they are our 1st game in BET,they been playing much better and we have not ,also we have Heron who is questionable
Give me Seton Hall then Marquette
First we need to take care of Depaul then X. Then I think you can throw any team at us and we have the same probability of winning and losing. This team is a total crap shoot, so let’s blow on those dice and hope Lady Luck is with us each night.

I have been really impressed with Georgetown this year. Ewing seems to have the program trending in the right direction.

As I and others have said before assuming they keep this core together (injuries/transfers) combined with a good class and Yurevsten being eligible that is a top 3 BE team next year. Villanova will be back to being an elite team next year and Marquette should be good and if Howard comes back elite again.

Here is how 3rd place seems to be shaping up. Georgetown has DePaul and Marquette on the road. Can't see them winning both, specifically the Marquette game.

Give them the game at DePaul and 9-9. Xavier has Butler on the road and SJU at home Let's say they steal that Butler game on the road, SJU beats DePaul tomorrow. That game in Cincy could be winner take all for the 3 seed. Either way I think SJU will need that game in Cincy simply to avoid being swept by X and losing tiebreakers to them.

Bottom line is if SJU wins out they will be the 3 seed. Let's get it done...

And St. John’s?

I think it will come down to SJU v. Xavier in Cincy for the 3rd seed almost regardless of what happens tomorrow v. DePaul. 9-9 with a win at Xavier should be good enough to grab the 3rd seed over everyone else because of the secondary tiebreakers we own (3-1 record vs. Marquette and Nova).

The biggest benefit of being #3 in the BET, to me, is the schedule. We would be the late night game on Thursday which would hopefully allow more of our fans to make it.

Unless Georgetown wins out, then yes, I believe that the Xavier game is the only one that matters re: BET seeding.

Yes, you are right. Thanks.

Tough road games left for GTown at Depaul and at Marq to finish their season. Marquette will need the game for NCAA seeding too.

How could Farrell not be dismissed by the league after the season? There are so many good young refs out there...why forward with somone who is controversial at a young age? There is no place for egos in officiating.

Are we sure nova will be back to being elite? They lose their by far and away 2 best players who are both 5th year seniors. Sure they have big time recruits coming in but what’s returning is not special.

They will need to rebuild. Losing Divencenzo completely blindsided them and Wright struck out with a few guys to make things worse. Quinerly was a huge swing and a miss.

Wright is the gold standard but he did a very poor job building a roster with crazy momentum he had built up with the two national championships.

We should have such problems.
