Not Big East but per Zags;
The University of Arizona was notified that the NCAA has declared Allonzo Trier ineligible after he tested positive for a banned substance. They are appealing. Story coming.

"The amount detected was minuscule by scientific standards and appears to be a remnant of a substance, which the NCAA agreed, Allonzo had unknowingly ingested in 2016."

If it's banned by the NCAA I'm guessing the substance was Integrity ®. WARNING: Integrity ® may decrease your mood, sleep, appetite, energy level, nervousness and sexual performance. In severe cases it may cause death, especially if your name is Vince Foster. Do not take Integrity ® if you are pregnant by Rick Pitino or are thinking of becoming pregnant by Rick Pitino or of attending Louisville University. Ask your doctor if symptoms persist or if they're worse than 9-11. May cause drowsiness or loss of institutional control. Do not use alcohol while taking Integrity ® unless you are having sex with the assistant coach's wife on the restaurant floor, in which case it might cause restless leg syndrome. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while taking Integrity ® unless your name is Bobby Huggins, in which case do you know who I am. Get medical help right away if you develop any of the following symptoms: weight loss, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, a sense of right and wrong or tattoos.

Not the Big East but Drexel down at one point by 34 points comes back and beats Delaware.

And for those curious, this was the previous record. I remember watching on TV, but my memory is apparently fading, because I thought it was 32 down by Kentucky against Tulane. It was in fact LSU, and Tulane was a part of the previous record (that one was way before my time, though).

The Providence/Xavier game was awesome. I wasn't there, but having been to many great MSG games, I could feel the energy from home. If we can just put together a little success and play in some of these big time games, it is bound to pay dividends on the recruiting trail.

Let's hope our core four come back and, for once, we catch a few breaks.

It would be nice to make a deep run in the BE T and be part of the excitement. What has it been (as they would say on the Michael Kay show) since 1947 that we made the semis of the BE T?

Interesting note. Now that we have a Nova vs. Providence final, this marks the 5th straight year that an original BE team will win the tournament. I consider Nova an original.

2014 -Providence
2015 -Villanova
2016 -Seton Hall
2017 -Villanova

Really enjoyed the Xavier loss after Mack's tantrum after the game. Actually I wanted them to face Nova in the final but not after rubbing salt in our wound.
One thing that stood out in the Providence game was having a center who can score down low, Watson made some key baskets. I would hope that the staff is going to work with Owens on moves down low.

Needs to master the BIG MAC STUFF. Several times.

Big East announces they set record in five years of reformatted league in tournament attendance. #bigeasthoops

The Big East finished the season ranked #2 in RPI. Another very impressive year for our conference. The conference as a whole seems to be on the upswing despite the predicted downfall once we broke off.

Big East coaches should use videos of the BE Tournament to recruit. Tough to top the energy and excitement.

Watching the AAC and A10 finals makes it hard to understand why a kid with an opportunity to play at a BE school would ever choose to play in those conferences.

Much of this sounds very familiar from the lack of success of former St. John's A.D.'s in the hiring of coaches. Both schools have suffered from the unfair competition of Power 5 schools that have the resources and behind the scenes backers and brokers to buy players. The 1 n done rule needs to be abolished and hopefully the ongoing FBI investigation takes down some of the cheaters.

The 2018 @BIGEAST Tournament is @FOXSports' most-watched conference tournament ever. The 2018 average is up an impressive +21% over last year’s tournament. #BEtourney Championship Game between Providence and Villanova averaged 1,491,000 viewers on FOX.

In addition to attendance and tv viewer increases six bids two years in a row must put a lot of money in the league members pockets. Does anybody have any idea how much?
