Around the Big East '17-18

I saw Knox play 3 or 4 times. He is the real deal and will fit perfectly with uptempo style Fizdale wants to play. Great pick for the home team!

As a Knicks fan, I hope you're right
I would have taken the Bridges kid from Villanova

My view going into draft was they couldn't go wrong with either Bridges or Knox, but Knox has a little more upside at not yet 19.

Several of the young Kentucky kids have been busts in the NBA
Michael Kidd-Glichrist and others come to mind
Knox is a risk-reward pick. Bridges was more of a sure thing.
If my team is that bad and I'm picking this early, I want the guy I'm sure can contribute right away

I could be wrong but I see Bridges as another Otto Porter. He will show up for every game but he won’t be the guy on the back page for winning you the game

Yes but for every NBA bust from Kentucky there is a big time success. Gilchrist can't throw the ball in the ocean. Knox is no Gilchrist and I see very little risk with him. Time will tell, I have certainly been wrong many times.

I would love for the Knicks to draft Mikal Bridges tonight, he is a poor mans Kevin Durant and someone the Knicks could definitely use.

I’ve been very unimpressed with the players at the top of the draft.
Poor man's Kevin Durant????

Thanks for the chuckle.
Comparing Bridges to the second best player in NBA and maybe one of the top-15 NBA players of all time. He is much closer to Courtney Lee IMHO

I also heard Marcellus Earllington is a poor man's Charles Barkley while we are at it
Which is why I said “poor man’s” meaning not as good but similar styles. I never said that he is going to end up a top 15 all time player.

None of the comparisons relate to "style". It's about comparing talent. It's also not about height and weight because if that were the case Maher would be comparable to Donte DiVincenzo.:p
I love the Knox pick (albeit from what I’ve read about him pre-draft, having only watched one UK game this past season). Questions about MPJ’s health concerns weren’t worth the risk when there were other good players available.

I read that Memphis was shopping the 4th pick if a team was willing to take on Chandler Parson’s huge contract. I was hoping the Knicks would do it and get Bamba at 4 and Knox at 9.
Would think as part of that trade Knicks would have had to give up the 9th pick.

Not Big East, but;
Malik Ellison has been named Pitt basketball's team captain for the 2018-19 season.
Good for him

I've been wrong more than I've been right
But when you have a team as bad as the Knicks are, I think you take the closest to a sure thing
Knox may or may nor have more upside
But I think Bridges is more polished and more ready to contribute immediately
Time will tell but, as a Knicks fan, I hope Knox pans out

Per Kevin McNamara;
Dajour Dickens' short-lived basketball career at Providence College is over.

Dickens, a 7-foot center who redshirted last year as a freshman, has decided to leave the school. PC issued a release Thursday saying he is leaving "to pursue other opportunities."
