In hindsight, I guess we should have figured out that having two neophytes who happen to be millionaires in their fifties wouldn't be the hungriest guys out on the recruiting trail.

I've got to believe that someone (Mullin or insert anyone connected to the program) realizes that the recruiting wars are not being won by us. Hence, something needs to be done.....However, all I see and hear is status quo?

Or course this leads many to believe that something is being done and we don't know about it or that no one really gives a hoot enough to address the issue....Hope it's the former.

Yeah, it took hindsight. We all knew Matt and Slice were brought in to do the recruiting. Then the Slice fiasco and no one to replace him on the recruiting trail. Who ever expected Mitch a neophyte and as you say a 50 something millionaire to be a go getter recruiting wise.

Funny how people mentioned Lavin was lazy recruiting, Mullin ain't racking up the miles either.
I'd be happy with metro card but I'd be disappointed

We all give him crap and sometime he deserves it but as far as recruiting and at games etc he ALWAYS posts what coaches are at the game. He doesn't leave ANYONE out

http://www.zagsblog.com/2018/03/23/valdir-manuel-to-seton-hall/
In some ways any big is a good thing and I have no doubt the staff is getting outworked by guys like Holloway and Billemeir, but this guy is 187 on 247/Scout, in the same general range as Josh Roberts (220). Not really that big of a deal in and of itself.
This is exactly what happens every time. One of our rivals signs a recruit and people start complaining. Yet they have no clue if the recruit is any good. If we had signed someone else in that range their would be plenty of complaints. This board is so funny.

Back then I was more competitive than my older years. Then I'd meet them out for drinks and realize they were beer goggling most of the time

It's the same thing with recruiting

Good thing we didn't go to school together. My motto in the early years was "Any port in a storm."

I just left a bar here in philly with a group of happy nova fans filling out and Cuse fans filling in.

It has been 18 Years since we were in the Elite 8. Will that ever happen to us again???

I’m happy for my nova friends, but feel so left out of the party. They don’t even make fun of my anymore because they know our program is basically irrelevant.

I believe we’ll get there. I think we're very close to being relevant again and would’ve been this season IF LoVett hadn’t deserted the team.
But under these circumstances—after the tough season, Tariq’s shock departure, and rumblings of recruiting ‘progress’ / ‘activity’ from G*Town, Providence, the Hall—no news is no news and frustrating as all hell.
We have to suck it up, relax, and believe we’ll get ‘there’.

Thanks, MJ. I think the moral of the story is.........show up to the games good and liquored up, and our roster will look damn good.

Illinois, Maryland, Manhattan, Fordham, Niagara, Drexel, Robert Morris, Cal, Iona, George Washington, Dayton, UMass, Holy Cross, Colgate, Siena, Monmouth, Albany, Vermont, Quinnipiac and Providence.

Unfortunately we were not in the list
If this is true, it's a real indictment against this staff. How do you not show up for your own state championship games???

Because they are too busy. 3 of the 4 live on west coast and the fourth guy is hunting transfers.

You'd be surprised.

Seton Hall will be playing on Wednesday in the BET next year. Let's hope SJU isn't.
