Around College Basketball

In addition to the timeouts allotted to each team, there are too many "extra" timeouts that teams get (ie: when a player fouls out and during a review of a disputed call). There are too many timeouts, which hurts the flow of a game.

Anybody like or dislike the notion of allowing a team to elect to move the ball to the front court after a called time out late in a game? Not only is it done in the NBA, it is also done in women's college basketball.

The biggest culprit is the back to back TV timeouts that seem to happen whenever a team takes a timeout right before a regular TV timeout. Those are a drag but they won’t change because $$$.

I am fine on going to 6 fouls. Do not like the semi-quarters, leave it with two 20 minute halves.  As far as advancing the ball via a timeout, I agree with Mase. Much prefer it stay the way it is, but could live with that change.

One thing to note is that under the "quasi-quarters" proposal, they would reset team fouls at the 10-minute mark of each half.

6 fouls please yes.  Unless you fire all the referees since they can't call a game to save their life.

No on the advanced ball.

I'd be a big fan of the 6 fouls with how we play on the defensive side

SJU had inquired about this former Arizona commit:

2021 four-star Shane Dezonie has committed to Vanderbilt

I was going to mention that in my original response but I either didn't or edited out but my response is a resounding HELL NO!

I don't love 6 fouls but I can live with it.

I am fine with quarters IF you get rid of 2 TV timeouts to make up for it.  Otherwise you're taking the already-ridiculous 4 timeouts per half and making them 6.

Advance the ball rule is just stupid.

As to time outs, if they follow what they did with the Women's games there would be one less media T/O per half.  For example, at the 5 minute point in 1st quarter and second quarter and at the end of the first quarter.  Also the team time outs were cut to 4 (carryover after half is 3).  In addition if a team calls a t/o before the 5 minute mark, it would also count as the media t/o.  The women's game has gotten rid of the 2 t/o's that you want if the change goes through.

Why change ant thing it has work well all these yrs and gave the fans entertainment. If they are so concern just let the refs see it and make no call

For a minute I thought that said Julian.  My heart is still in my throat!

He's going to average 18+ there and declare for draft and get drafted in first round. I keep hoping 5-star players finally realize they don't need to be a slave to Duke and Kentucky.
