Him not going there would have been the biggest recruiting news of the year.

Wish Suggs had stuck around another year.

so sad

Lexington, Ky. (WKYT) - WKYT has confirmed former UK men’s basketball player Terrence Clarke has died in Los Angeles.Sources tell WKYT Clarke and BJ Boston were leaving a workout in LA. We have been told Clarke died on the way to hospital.Boston was reportedly in a car behind him. We don’t know details on what happened.Clarke, a 6-foot-7 guard, was limited to just eight games this season due to a leg injury-- seven in non-conference play and one in the SEC Tournament-- making six starts and averaging 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. He declared for the NBA Draft in March.

I think he may have just had a child too which makes it even more tragic.

Apparently he ran a red light at speed, hit a car and then a pole.

i suppose every coach has their own philosphy as to how to recruit, but this one wowed me.

I believe the way VC tracks offers, is once an athlete is offered, the name goes on the VC list, and if the kid commits somewhere else, his name comes off the list.  For 2022, Bryant University currently has 5 open spots, 0 commits and 141 open offers.  Bryant may have offered another 25 or 50 kids who have gone elsewhere and been removed from the list.  How do the coaches even keep track of all the kids?  Does giving out that many sholarships cheapen the "gift"?

Talk about casting a wide net.

Anything is possible but I can't see Calipari pushing out a 5 star recruit.  Especially one he worked very hard to get.

Bailed or pushed?

So, you think CMA would push a kid out but not Cal?  Cal would absolutely push a kid out if he thought he had a better option, all of these kids are just one year rentals to him, he pays and promises whatever he has to, to get the best possible players to come play for him.  And if Cal has his eyes set on Alvarado and that's his primary focus, that's not a good sign, because he'll literally do and say whatever it takes to land him, Cal rarely loses a head to head recruiting battle and there's a reason why.

I hear you. And anywhere but Kentucky id say it’s crazy to be able to reload/upgrade. But for a year only, I think he’d probably take Alvarado. Goes to show how good of a get here would be.
