Around College Basketball

Tom Tolbert said it was a walk-on in the Duke program that sparked the shutdown. Subsequently called him a walk-off in the near future.

Virginia just had to forfeit their next game of the ACC Tourney.  G Tech now walks into the ACC final.

If this happens in the NCAA's man that is going to be a disaster.

Love college hoops and happy to see SJU play so many games this year, but what a tough season for many

Breaking news from the ACC where Virginia is out due to a Covid positive and Georgia Tech advances to the title game against the UNC/FSU winner

Could mean no NCAA Tournament for the 2019 Defending Championship as teams enter the bubble in Indianna on Monday or Tuesday and you need 7 straight days of negative test results.  This whole thing is confusing

Since he was never on their roster, can SJU go after him?
If he signed with Creighton, then he can't attend another Big East school.  I think that's a silly rule being he's never played a game for Creighton.

I think if a player signs with a school and backs out of their commitment then s/he should be able to attend another school within the same conference as long as they've never played a game for said school.

As nice as it would be to get such a 4 star player ,  I doubt CMA would recruit the kid . Only because he had committed to Creighton . It would kind of be like Poaching too.  Remember during the Roberts era , we had a Commit from Doug Wiggins and Calhoun came in and got him to decomit and enroll at UCONN . He proved to be a bust .

Wiggins verbal led to us and then changed his mind after the infamous "bumped" in to a UConn assistant at the barbershop after UConn dropped a player who had given them a verbal but ran into some off court issues.  The story goes as soon as the St. John's staff heard about UConn dropping the other recruit, they tried to get a hold of Wiggins and his family but to no avail.  They had a feeling what was going to go down.

We got revenge a few years later when in the summer between his junior and senior years of high school, Mo Harkless  changed his mind and rescinded his verbal to UConn and eventually signed with St. John's.

Good trade for the good guys.  Wiggins last seen playing in the Slovakian 3rd division.  ;)

We even threw in the proverbial 'player to be named later', Sid Wilson.

Everytime I check this thread lately, I fear that I am going to find out that there is another positive test and another team had to drop out of their tournament.

If you watch the Pac 12 Championship game today, one of Oregon State's reserves is Maurice Callou, who I believe is a former SJU recruit. He scored three points last night.
