Around College Basketball

Nebraska beat Penn State on Sunday.  Remarkably, Nebraska had lost 25 Big 10 games in a row.  Last Big 10 victory was over a year ago.

Matt A has his work cut out for him there along with rest of coaching staff.

the roster has been built very much in Fred and Matts way of juncos and transfers. Next year they they a good sit out transfer and a 5 star and 4 star recruit. That will be the test to see if they start turning a corner because right now they are terrible.

Just noticed that our very own Bryan Trimble Jr. is averaging 12.5 and shooting nearly 40% from 3 for the 13-4 Akron Zips (1st Place in the MAC).

Seems like he found a nice landing spot, was always a good kid.

NC State and Pitt on the ACC Network at 4:30 today for anyone who gets that station and would like to watch Champs brother play.

Rutgers playing at Michigan tonight at 9 pm on FS1. Upset win would be huge for them. See Lunardi bracket currently has them as 7 seed playing 10 seed Hall in first round.

That Ohio State (#4) vs Michigan (#3) Sunday afternoon game should be a barnburner.

1 seed could be in play there.
Former LUHI big man and SJU recruit Zed Key having solid freshman campaign at Ohio State.  Old school big who should be a starter next year.

Watching Wichita State who are in position to upset #6 Houston and put themselves in good shape for a bid. They have a nice sopphomore guard Tyson Etienne from New Jersey. Weren't we mentioned as recruiting him at some point?

He spent some time at LuHi. Think he was also at Putnam Science, which may have killed any chance we had with him.

They lost. No great wins and only one bad loss. Feels like a team that will lose in the round of 32.

Looks like Justin and Julian will play against each other next year at MSG. Pitt against the Johnnies. Can't get any better then this.

Interestingly enough, last night Mike Cragg said that game was apparently planned prior to either brother going to each school.

Great Country :)

Nate Oats was a HS Teacher & Basketball Coach 8 years ago at Romulus HS in Michigan.

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University announced today that Ed Kull, who has been serving as interim athletic director since April, has been appointed the permanent director of athletics effectively immediately. In this capacity, Kull will report directly to the president and oversee a division of more than 100 coaches and staff, 500 student-athletes, and 22 varsity teams.

The  NCAA will allow a limited number of fans at the 2021 Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, including all rounds and the Final Four. The decision to allow up to 25% capacity with physical distancing was made in conjunction with state and local health authorities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event capacity will include all participants, essential staff and family members of each participating team’s student-athletes and coaches and a reduced number of fans. All attendees must wear face coverings and physically distance during the event. Thorough cleaning, disinfecting and safety measures will be a priority in all venues.
