Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University announced today that Ed Kull, who has been serving as interim athletic director since April, has been appointed the permanent director of athletics effectively immediately. In this capacity, Kull will report directly to the president and oversee a division of more than 100 coaches and staff, 500 student-athletes, and 22 varsity teams.

Great news for Ed.... hope he finds a great head coach, as long as it's not Van Macon !!!! lol... don't need competition to his connections locally.

(Cragg might need to keep him happy $$, but doubt we could ever pay that, low end A10 head coach range... that's still 2x's Slice !!)

Another good game last night for Bryan Trimble, scoring 19 on 5-8 from three (shooting 42% from three for the season). He really has found the right level of competition for him and has an outside chance to play in the dance as Akron is 1/2 game behind Toledo for Mid American conference championship.

Seems to me that blue bloods like Kentucky, Michigan State and Kansas are starting to get big wins late in the season.  That might unfortunately give the NCAA selection reason to choose them for the tournament and give them the benefit of the doubt.

Boy wish we could get a big along the lines of Zed Key with Ohio State. We can dream.

I've watched several Ohio State games (in whole or part) and always pay attention to Key when he is on the court.  He works hard in positioning himself  down low on offense,  sets, good picks and always bodies his man and boxes out when a shot goes up.  Has good feet with post moves anc can finish his jump hook with either hand.  Works hard on defensive position in the post on  defense while still able to flash out and hedge away from the box.  Makes the most out of the 15 - 18 minutes he usually gets.

He's pretty much dead on

As more venues begin to welcome back fans, the N.Y. POST's Mike Vaccaro presented his take on the best "overall viewing experience" among college and pro sports playing in empty venues. Vaccaro: "We’ve watched it all. Which has been best? Which has been worst?"

1. NFL: "I never once found myself distracted by the empty seats, and the games all looked as they probably would have in normal times."
2. NHL: "This is no surprise, but the level of play seemed absolutely unchanged."
3. PGA: "I never once found myself distracted by the lack of galleries."
4. NBA: "It’s been a little more of an adjustment this year, with teams playing in their own arenas."
5. MLB: "The cardboard cutouts limited the depressing look to many games."
6. NCAA Football: "Like the NFL, the product itself is still fine, even in those stadiums that were echoing."
7. Tennis: The U.S. Open "was the one sports event this year where I was constantly aware that nobody was there." It "was hard."
8. NCAA Basketball: "Without pep bands, student sections and a generally raucous environment, it’s been a long, hard road" (N.Y. POST, 2/21).

Julian brother Justin is skyrocketing up on draft boards right now. Bleacher had him at 30 and now sports illustrated has him in the top 25 in the draft.  I don't think the Pitt vs St. John's matchup next year will be brother vs brother anymore.

The parents want them both to graduate. We'll see how much influence they have.

it would suck to have Julian leave but if he gets drafted in the first round after his sophomore year it would help recruiting immensely. To be able to have the staff say they put this kid  who wasn't on anyone's radar in the NBA after his sophomore season is huge.

I do it think that will happen ,not 1st round

if he's not guaranteed to be drafted in the first round then I think he stays.

insight into his play .. Maybe some posters can compare their games ?  I think it would be interesting to all fans here . Thanks .

One plays in ESPN broadcast Power 5 football conference.  The other plays on Fox in orphan BB conference.

Julian and Justin are completely different players.  Julian as we know has a beautiful shooting stroke, grabs his share of rebounds and is a very nice all-around player who stays within the framework, and has a calm demeanor on the court.  However, he has not yet developed the ability to put the ball on the floor, take his man to the hoop, or dominate the game by himself if closely defended.

Justin is a beast.  He does not have Julian's shooting stroke, although he can hit some 3s if you leave him alone (sort of similar to Marcellus).  But he can create his own shot either from mid-range or going to the hoop, and he's a fierce rebounder.  He is also very fiery and demonstrative on the court.

In terms of the next level, if Justin does not develop a better outside shot I think he's a tweener.  He basically has a power forward skill set but he's too small to play that position in the NBA.  Julian on the other hand is a guy who could stay in the league as a 3-and-D shooting guard.

IMO both of them have development needs, although inverse ones.  Justin needs to work on his outside shot and Julian needs to work on getting to the hoop.  Right now I think Justin is the better college player - you can limit or erase Julian by keeping a defender on him on the perimeter.  Justin is going to find a way to get his points and rebounds against you no matter what you do.

Just my 2 cents, others may have other/different perspective.
