Around College Basketball

The Iowa Rutgers game not bad on espn2. Iowa just went on a 10-0 run but it's close in first half

tough ending for Rutgers but that was an excellent game and rutgers impressed me. Johnson is what I wish Roberts or someone would develop to at the 5. By the time Pikiel is 55 hes gonna look 80

Amar's cousin Luke Garza so solid ; 9/11 from field & 6/7 FTs, 25 points and controlled things down the stretch.

Colorado State trailed San Diego State, 33-7, and came back for the win (on the road), 70-67.  The biggest comeback in conference history.

Gergetown was up 16 at half and got smoked in the second half. Marquette went on a big run and didnt look back from there. Real ba dloss for the Hoyas

Sources tell me that the NCAA and the city have reached an agreement to host the ENTIRE 2021 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis. Official announcement expected later

Is it me or does it seem Pie In The Sky to think about starting tournament on March 14th?  realistically May might be more feasible.  All about the $$$$-no conflict with NBA/NHL playoffs and BB season in March.

Colorado State with another slow start against San Diego State (again, on the road).  They may have used up all their magic on Saturday.

By the way....

Code:
Players on both teams are expected to wear masks in Tuesday's game, which is at Boston University's campus. The game is believed to be the first men's college basketball game in which both teams will be wearing masks on the court, according to ESPN.

A 12-point underdog, Hofstra stuns A-10 favorite Richmond on the road. Big time win for the Pride and interim coach Mike Farrelly. Jalen Ray had 23 points and has taken over along with Tareq Coburn as go-to guy.
Zach B

Isaac Kante had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Unless they do a UK,  I wouldn't worry about making the tourney if I was them.

As far as cancellng games, Duke had games previously cancelled/postponned against Elon and Charleston Southern that were not rescheduled.   The only non-conference came they formally cancelled was a rescheduled game versus Gardner-Webb.  I really don't think that particular GW would have really helped their NET all that much.

I've begun to follow Fordham basketball on the side, as my daughter has recently committed to attend there starting in the fall.  Don't worry, not switching teams... and neither is my daugther!!  I know the history and how little the school has put into the program.

Anyway, surprisingly, they beat Dayton tonight 55-54.  Dayton was 5-2  going in,..

They were on COVID pause all year until just after Christmas...  They got beat badly by GW (71-47) and LaSalle (89-52) who we beat. I saw the LaSalle game as it was televised. It was painful to watch.  Interestingly, Fordham has a 6'11,250 lb center, Joel Soriano from Yonkers who looked more than serviceable as a big man...Go figure.

redstormnc - good luck/congrats to your daughter at fordham
coming from a fordham, SJU, adelphi alumni, i believe your pain as a fan just increased exponentially.
if one thinks being a SJU fan is painful, wait until you closely follow the rams to see how painful, pain can be.

That's why I jumped on the Tide bandwagon when my daughter commited to Bama; to counteract a little of the suffering that I've had to endur for many years as an SJU fan. She finished at GW; not much of a bandwagon to jump on there.
