Around College Basketball

Maybe Justin Champagnie should take the rest of the season off to rehab and transfer to SJU... ;-

There is an old comedy bit by Burns and Schreiber about a faith healer working on a man with a bad hand who prays "Oh lord, Heal this man, make the one hand like the other" and of course the guy winds up with two bad hands.  How many people at Pitt are thinking it might be a good time for Julian to transfer there"

Pittsburgh head coach Jeff Capel said he was “close” to being hospitalized for COVID-19 and doesn’t believe college basketball should be playing now due to the virus.Pitt announced Dec. 19 that Capel has tested positive for the virus.Asked how his experience was Monday on a Zoom call, he said, “It was a bitch, to be honest with you. It was tough, it was tough. I had symptoms and it was difficult dealing with the symptoms, the isolation was hard. I understand a little bit better now why solitary confinement is a form of punishment.

Capel is just 45 years old.  Viruis is so unpredictable.

Boy Rutgers looks good! They are very active on defense and shooting lights out against Purdue, blowing them out with their two stars hurt on the bench out of game.

If everyone loves the job Rutgers is doing I guess we need to all zip it and give CMA time.

LJ leading a good Oregon team in rebounding (7.2 rpg), 4th in both ppg and mpg. Only 2-18 from three though. They start conference play against Cal tonight.

Speaking of Iona, not sure where I was driving, I think it was on I-95 in the Bronx. They have a huge billboard to celebrate Rick Pitino being at Iona. Has anyone seen this?

Here's a pic of the billboard

Something to be said for a coach actually telling it as it is and not coach speak
