This is not a surprise except, at least for the time being, Miami is not included. UVA and UNC have been the lesser talked about “hawks” who have been looking to bolt for “greener” more lucrative pasture.
Maybe, but Duke not mentioned here while its fiercest rival, UNC was.I get a feeling Duke (along with Stanford and Cal) will end up with a Big Ten invite to lure in Notre Dame
UVA surprises me a bit. They are the weakest of the teams mentioned. I would have thought Big 12 or staying put. This is not a surprise except, at least for the time being, Miami is not included. I agree as when you think about it with their football history, UVA would not seem to be one of the hawks trying to get out. However, while Clemson and FSU have been leading the charge, UNC and UVA have been with them all along while not getting the same focus. Miami has supported them too so not sure why they aren’t included.UVA surprises me a bit. They are the weakest of the teams mentioned. I would have thought Big 12 or staying put.
Duke will get left behind IMO. The Big Ten and SEC want to get grid rid of Northwestern and Vandy, respectively, as it is .
It’s crazy to me. UVA is 10th in the ACC in average attendance for football…barely beating out BC and behind Syracuse. Pitt averages 15,000 more fans and Va Tech averages 24,000 more fans per game to put it in perspective.I agree as when you think about it with their football history, UVA would not seem to be one of the hawks trying to get out. Follow the money. Invest in stocks and have a bull market.ACC coaches wary of more realignment to come
ACC men's basketball coaches were on board with the league's additions of Cal, Stanford and SMU but also remained wary of what else there is to come in college realignment.www.espn.com
Little guys (conferences) getting squeezed
Smaller conferences’ regular season means nada now. A team like Iona could have super regular season, get upset in conference tourney and very likely have to put the balls away, unless they had outstanding OOC results v stellar competition. That's terrible. I guess the ratings have been an issue with those schools.

The interest in the NIT has not been good for many years. It might be time to let it die (which they should also do with at least half (20 or more) of their football bowl games.NIT seems intent on destroying agoodmediocre+ thing.
