Around College Basketball (non-Big East) 2018/19

Kansas needed every bit of Homecourt advantage to beat Nova . I kept thinking Norm must be contributing something to the Kansas in game strategy but, then I realized he was on the outskirts of the huddle . Self pretty much does the Chalk board stuff himself . Booth was on fire down the stretch . Which puzzled me why Gillespie took a few shots as the clock clicked down on the last few possessions . Even the Announcers questioned his taking the long jumper that would have tied the game late . Also too, Indiana got all the calls down the stretch vs Butler . One that was particularly onerous , was when the Indiana player drove the baseline late and dished off underneath . To me it looked like he stepped on the end line . But, the Hoosier kid made a terrific game winning 3 . Gonzaga looked like they just got off the Plane and weren’t interested in playing any Defense vs NCarolina . Their Japanese kid looked good but, not any better than a few of the Tar Herl players .

Butler was hurt by Baldwin deciding to try a Jordan impersonation down the stretch. He made a couple but missed more while pretty much monopolizing the ball the last few minutes. Gillespie is a nice player but pretty surprised he seems to have the green light from Wright.

You mean the guy who backed up Eli last year and spent this season with the Jets but never plays? ;)

IMO - Crazy that the writer didn’t even mention St. John’s as a possible contender[/quote]

I watched a replay of last evenings Syracuse vs. Buffalo game and was impressed to see that Buffalo has a legit team; well coached, talented players with senior leadership.

Luther Muhammad having solid freshman year for #15 Ohio State. Averaging 9 ppg in 29 minutes and shooting 39% from 3.

And, as anticipated, Luther defends very well with enthusiasm to delight of Coach Chris H.

9-1 NC State with a very tough test tonight hosting #7 Auburn. Kevin Keatts was an excellent hire for the Wolfpack. Tough to compete with Duke & UNC locally but he appears to have them on the upswing.

Feels like a kick in the stomach every time I see his name. :(

He would be the first guard off the bench ahead of Dixon, Trimble and Williams and would push Simon for minutes.

I have to admit that I'm shocked he's doing what he's doing. He seemed to plateau as a high school senior, thought admittedly I was basing that off articles and not seeing him in person.
