Any more talk of moe staying or going?

IF Moe is a top 20 pick this year then this is a good move. It's non of my business what his personal life/finances is like so i'll leave it at that. IMHO I think only 1 or 2 freshman are ready for the NBA every year but unfortunately much more enter. Too many Xavier Henry's, Josh Selby's & Lance Stepehenson's around. I stand my Moe 100% in this decision and will root for him where ever he lands. I trust Moe's, Moe's families & our coaching staffs judgement. I just really hope he doesn't slip and fall during the draft. Congrats Moe, thank you for believing in St. Johns when no one else did & good luck in the NBA I expect him to have a nice career ahead of him

Oh and FWIW I dont think this move hurts us that much next year. I think Jakarr will come in and fill his void nicely along with improvement from returners & a boost from other new comers. Us fans shouldn't worry about next years team

Not going to lie. Selfishly, this really sucks. We would have quite a team if he stayed, and I think he's severely undersized and underweight to play NBA minutes right away. You can't take nights off in the NBA and every player in the NBA, evfen the scrubs are better than 98 percent of the guys he played against this past year. The BE was really overrated this year. I really hope he thinks this out until that April 10 deadline,

As a Moe fan, I hope he gets drafted high, makes that cash and I wish him nothing but luck.

it seems very much like zags uses this site, redmen.com, for latest updates on recruiting or maybe he has same sources. The last 2 lines are essentially the recruits being chatted about on here and chandelor is released as mystery center on thesite and magically an article apears.

he's a tool.

This is so stupid, these players go to college to get to the NBA and he is now able to do that. They need to change the rule and let players go immediately to the pros. This is a tough draft. A lot of players went back to school last year because of the possible lock out. I am a SJU fan but it is obvious that Moe Harkless is not ready for the NBA. He will be drafted in the top 25 and will get his guarenteed contract and hopefully for him end up in the right situation. There are so many college players that can play in the NBA but you have to get the right opportunity. Jeremy Lin was lucky he got to play for Mike D'Antoni or else who knows what would have happened to him.

To be honest, you could see this one coming in the past week. Quite frankly, I doubt he returns. I'd love for him to have second thoughts, but I believe this is it and no turning back for Moe.

If we were to land Sanchez, Bourgault, Chandler and a shooter, then I believe we'll be able to make up for what we're gonna lose in Moe. We'd certainly be something to be reckon with with Moe, but I still believe we can be a solid team without him.

To be honest I think we should expect 14 and 8 from jakaar! Theorist of our additions will be gravy! Now a scorer like Morris could become very important

Good luck Moe. You probably should have stayed one more year, but all the best.. Saw you play against Cuse, Hall and Rutgers and you didn't do much in those games, but you had some beast games as well.

I am now realizing this a minimum 3 year turn around for our program. Need some more bigs and if we get we should better next year. I'll be surprised if we are dancing but could be in Nit.

Hey this will be the first draft ill be watching since ron ron left...would love for him to stay local n play for the nets...dont like the knicks so it would be hard for me to root him on if he played there...shoot actually i hate the NBA in general so it doesn't really matter

Maybe we can wait til the rosters filled out before we throw in the towel and hope for an NIT bid next year...

No Mo Harkless. Heard he declared. I wish him the best but he needed another season.

If the team telling him they will draft him in the 1st round changes direction, he will slip into the 2nd round and he will have to work real hard to make a team.
I have heard that people are telling him he will not get the touches and points next year with a deeper and more talented SJ team and that his stock would drop. That makes some sense since with a deeper team this year he would not have had the year he has had. Since he is a low key, non-aggressive player, he is taking a huge risk that he will make a team without the physical tools. He will be a very good middleweight in a heavyweight division. The odds will be against him. If he declares he will have to leave school and train 24/7 but I agree with Jim Boeheim on his needing another year.

I wish him the best for his family and really do appreciate his time with us but this is crazy.

He shot 20% from three this year. I have seen this man brick far too many mid range jumpers.

We should all be able to agree he will be a SF in the NBA, he will have to compete with the following:

Lebron
Carmelo
Pierce
Iguodala
Caron Butler
Deng
etc...

This is crazy, I'm sorry. I wish him the best but this is crazy.

Teams aren't drafting Moe because he's NBA "ready". So we can sit here all day and remind each other that he's a poor shooter from 3, and doesn't have the strength and body for the NBA yet.

But NBA execs are drafting him based on his potential. They draft for the value they think he'll be in a few years.

There's no question guys like kevin Jones, Draymond Green, Corey Joseph and Jae Crowder all;
1) Had better years than Moe
2) Are more physically ready for the NBA, and
3) Are better ball handlers and shooters than Moe

and guess what? Every draft expert expects Moe to be drafted ahead of all of them.
Drummond isn't ready to bang with Dwight Howard, Tyson Chandler or Chris Bosh... but he's going to be a top 5 pick.
I wish the best luck to Moe, and I don't think it's a poor choice, because he'll probably be drafted in the same area this year as he would if he stayed an extra season. Scouts expect him to get better, so unless he becomes an entirely different player I don't see his draft stock changing very much.
