All Realignment Talk Here

Is ND to the Big East in the cards? I've only ever seen it mentioned here (maybe I'm not looking in the right places)
It's speculative, but its informed on the idea that Notre Dame may have to leave the ACC scheduling agreement to improve their contract with NBC/Peacock since there aren't enough good games on it. They're obsessed with remaining football independent, so the only way they can maintain football independence/scheduling agreement with the B10 & be in a major conference, would be by joining us. Not sure how coincidental it is that the bulk of BE programming is now on....Peacock. The same streaming provider that hosts most of Notre Dame's athletics.

Questionable whether the Big 10+ can still fit ND in with all those teams if ND isn’t in the conference , they might not get the level of schedule they have grown accustomed to.

How long is their agreement with the ACC. They might have to follow suit (no pun intended) like Clemson and FSU and file a lawsuit to get out of it.

Big 10 and any other conference would have ND in a heartbeat in whatever capacity they're willing. They're the big fish in realignment. The networks would love ND against their old school rivals (Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan), rivals (USC), and potential new ones (Ohio State, Penn St, etc.)

ND and ACC is 2036, ND and NBC is 2029. 2029 is same year B10 deal expires as well.

I definitely think that's another part of it. Why would NBC be happy with ND staying in the ACC if they're playing games against Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, etc., when they could be getting games against bigger foes in the B10? It's hard to imagine the ACC finding suitable replacements for any team they lose. Plus, NBC has a contract with the B10 as well (but not ACC...), so they'd also be getting more ND content that way.

Not sure I agree with your statement that the B10 would accept ND in whatever capacity ND is willing to join.

My understanding is that a decade or so ago the B10 rejected a proposal by ND similar to that accepted by the ACC that ND would stay independent in football but be a member of the B10 for other sports. [ I also understand that the B10 negotiations with Texas broke down over issues related to it Longhorn Tv network.]

I agree that the B10 would welcome ND on like terms as other B10 members but ND will not dictate terms to the B10.

The B10 would like to add ND but it has done pretty well without ND.

When the ACC breaks apart look to the B10 to attempt to add a Florida school (UMiami or Florida St.) , UNC and Virginia.

UConn essentially guaranteed a .500 season in football now. Very good timing for them. The bar for them is just don’t be completely pathetic.
They have played well enough to sit at or near the bottom of the Big 12 or ACC. Eventually they will go away.

They are playing almost all home games against awful teams. Doubt anyone is fooled.

They had an incredibly favorable schedule. The problem is that the bar is so low for their football with a blue blood basketball program and a young, monstrous head coach at the helm for what looks like many years to come.

The thing I can't find which I'm curious about is what are the tv ratings for UConn's games against the high major schools. That is what the networks will care most about, assuming they would no longer not be an embarrassment in the conference -- which I still don't think is a given after this one year

Most of their games are on CBSSN, so the one game I did find which I think is fair, is the week 0/1 matchup against Maryland on FS1.

They got destroyed. You can say that they had some big competition, but Va Tech/Vandy drew 1.45 million in that same time slot! It's stuff like that which makes me think Big 12 commissioners would much rather have the Hokies than the Huskies.

Ouch.

Some maniac might think Uconn gives them a share of the NYC market.

The Westminster Dog Show Regional Finals gets bigger ratings than that Uconn game

Iditarod viewership is plummeting
Since I , like many have been to Alaska and visited a Iditarod Dog Farm , I can tell you those Dogs are not Huskies at all .
They are bred smaller and for Speed and Endurance . Not the Breed Standards for Huskies .
At the end of the Tour of the Dog Farm, the Owners bring out Puppies for you to hold and take pictures with . This is done purposefully as they want the Dogs to be totally people friendly . Which they are and cute as can be .
So , those of you who have Banned the Iditarod , can now return to watching .
No Huskies present .
