Mike Brey quoted a saying ND would have left with the other Catholic schools if they had not already committed to the ACC.

Also interesting reason why Marquette and DePaul were added to the conf. yrs. ago

It's a shame that ND ended up with the ACC. They would have been perfect to keep.

When the ACC implodes, nd will end up being another of the losers along with cincy, Yukon, wake, etc.
The new BE would be their wet dream , which is why they should never be invited back.

I understand your rage or acrimony towards those schools. That being said, I hope the C7 will try to leave emotions and grudges out of this as they are trying to ensure the long term success of our new conference. If we would be lucky enough that the ACC would implode and somehow ND became free again to move, I would take them back into our conference.

As much as people hate UCONN and Syracuse. We should probably play them every year. Good rivalries, geography, MSG game and will help our strength of schedule.

Uconn, Syracuse and ND will bend over to play St. John's in the Garden after the dust settles. Their fans and alums have been vocal about it. Pretty sure Lavin would endorse it for SOS.
Pretty sure Pitino would want a NYC game every year with SJ as long as he is there. It will be like the old Big East without the marriage ring to drag SJ down.

They dont need st johns to get into the Garden. Wake up. They fill the place and the Garden can match them up with another school Maybe a school from a major conference

I was against ND from the get go and you can look it up with past posts. Too bad the old website cant be accessed because you would see that I was against them. They are arrogant, demanding as of course self righteous. All the attributes of a good Catholic school cough cough. ND was the reason Miami and BC left in the first place. They wouldnt let anyone play with their football. If ND had come in for all sports the conference would have flourished. Would we be an SEC? No but we (BE) would have been better than the Pac 10 or Big 12 and all these defections would never had happened.

NO WAY-- I would avoid playing them like UConn did with BC when BC left.

And now that it is official, there may be word trickling out later today about who will join them...again look to connect the dots. Some of it started with Quinippiac and Monmouth joining the MAAC

Lots of details to be worked out. #Georgetown AD Reed says it's "3rd inning of a 9-inning game."

#Georgetown AD Lee Reed says breakaway school not necessarily giving up on Big East name.

:)

It was/is supposed to happen today -- Marist and Fairfield to the CAA.

However, I am now hearing that both or either one of those might hold out to see how many the Big East 7 take to either be a choice or get into a bigger league, ie the A-10

Add Butler, Gonzaga, Xavier, St. Louis and Dayton and that's one heck of a 12 team basketball league.
