All Realignment Talk Here

I can't imagine Blankmeyer is very happy about any of this. Masur could be ok if we add Creighton and St. Louis....

Why not? Seton Hall, G'Town, Nova, etc. are all very good baseball schools. Can't have it all...basketball is our main sport but for baseball we can just have more OOC games.

Seton Hall, G'Town, Nova are not very good baseball schools. They are considered bad baseball schools. Every so often Seton Hall makes the Tournament.

Seton Hall won the BE Baseball tournament two years ago wearing there "throw back" uniforms.

Seton Hall is not consistent. Last year they went 34-24, going 0-2 in BE Tournament. Seton Hall never has a chance for an NCAA bid unless they win the BE Tournament.

Why no mention of adding Holy Cross to get into the Boston market. Not a good fit? Why?

I'd love to get Boston market too but even BU and Northeastern would be a huge jump. HC is even more.

Having lived up here for a quite a while, college hockey rules the winter.
Not worth it.

Maybe we should invite UMass instead and start our own college hockey team. Can even play at MSG on the ice. I know it will never happen, but would be fun. I think SJU would be real successful this go around. Just no local ice to practice on.

I agree that this will never happen, but there is the World Ice facility in Queens.

I don't give a rat's ass about college football. I'm glad the basketball schools are making a bold move and that there is some semblance of stability on the horizon. At this point, we have to absolutely reject any school with a BCS football program. We also have to have the schools that join the new basketball conference sign an agreement binding them in for a number of years (10?, 20?) with a large buyout. Anyone who is not willing to make such a commitment should not be accepted.

Cincy and UConn starting their own conference? Dear god their hoops will take a hit. Boise St, UCF, South Florida, SD State, New Mexico, etc. Yes New Mexico and SD State are good right now, but they are not the Villanova type of team that you know is going to consistently win and be ranked. Their programs just aren't at that impressive. UCF is bad, South Florida is pretty bad, Boise St is awful (they have been good this year but overall they suck). The big basketball fans at Cincy and UConn must be PISSED! Going from Georgetown, Syracuse, Pitt, Notre Dame, Nova to UCF, New Mexico, Boise St, etc. is pretty pathetic. At least our teams (Xavier, Butler, Gonzaga(?) have a proven track record of winning consistently and against the best teams.

We should build the league slowly with top schools. I hope they don't add those A10 teams right away. Wait until the other conferences have their troubles and add top teams from those other conferences. The Big East will definatly enforce the 27 month waiting period this time because they won't have a league if they don't., so theres plenty of time to find good teams.

I'd be open to Gonzaga for basketball only.

St. John's
Georgetown
Villanova
Seton Hall
Marquete
Depaul
Providence
Xavier
Butler
Temple
Memphis
Gonzaga
Thats a terrific conferenence.

Nice job by the holy 7 to give the huskies their karmic return.
the BigEast helped build uconn into a BB power w stuttering jimmy taking his lumps early but
they did not show gratitude with trying to bolt their corrupt @sses 2x to acc to be turned away.
Now they on probation w no hof coach & no real BB league lol
payback is a bitch for jimmy dewars & his fleabag fans

I'd love to know who voted for Houston and SMU to be invited to the Big East when they aren't even welcome in UConn/Cincy's new desperation conference.

Right. Van we stop trying to invite football schools. It will not happen, and it should not happen, screw them.
Let Uconn, Temple, Cincy, Memphis try to piece together am absolutely awful conference.
I am actually very excited for the our home game against Uconn this year. It will be great to see those front running, a$$hole fans have to live with the indignity of:
1. No post seaon
2. The demise of their program.
Uconn will never sniff the type of success they had under Calhoun. And more likely than not, Uconn wil become just another ordinary program.

And that is just beautiful to watch. I will have a PBR to celebrate.

Never said it would happen. But it would have been a great conference. Not counting Memphis and Temple. Add ST. Louis and 1 more and were onto something.
