All Realignment Talk Here

More from our friend:

"Espn stepping in. Telling the ACC to invite both UL and Uconn. "

Where there is smoke there is fire. We know this realignment is not complete. The Big East is not in a strong position. I just hope the people in charge have
a plan that goes beyond staying in a watered down Big East.

Didn't we establish yesterday that this guy is bogus?
What's the point in posting his sh!t here?

Big East Conference‏@BigEastConf

Tulane University will host a press conference at 2pm ET (1pm local) - visit http://BIGEAST.org for full coverage at that time

So ECU is now in for football and Tulane for all sports. I know ECU has been angling for quite awhile to get in the BE. So we continue to raid Conference USA.

We've gone from playing the likes of Syracuse, Pitt, and UConn to playing SMU, ECU, and Tulane

What a joke
_____________

ECU (at least for now) is football only. We do pick up mighty Tulane, though. Great academics, big city (very important for BE in TV contract negotiations). Sports? Let's not go there.

I'm guessing ECU replaces Navy who was to join for football only. Navy was hesitant about joining the BE (who wouldn't be?) and mentioned several times they were looking for a stable conference. No need for a second football only school if Navy was to stay around.

Someone reported Navy may be looking to the ACC. If true and the ACC isn't raided then it might mean UCONN and Louisville will stay around. Probably not for very long but ..;.

Word is the BE invited BYU but they declined and BE is still looking to add at least one school in the West. Names mentioned are Fresno St, Colorado St, UNLV and New Mexico. Both Boise and SDSU have been pushing for BYU (not happening), AFA (not happening) or Fresno State.

the Big East should now add the Philadelphia Eagles for football only, this will increase our national presence and get a larger foothold in the huge Philly market.

exactly my thought, what a mess. I have really grown to despise college football

The seven basketball-only schools need to leave and form their own conference quickly, because I'd rather be forced to join the A-10 than watch the junk we are adding to the BE.

Tulane? Oh wow...they make DePaul, Prov, and SH seem like juggernauts. PLEASE let's get out of this mess. I can only pray FSU, Clemson, VT, etc. leave the ACC and open up more spots so we can grab one.

so if were adding teams I guess the Big East isnt going anywhere soon.

Big East will ultimately survive. Question is whether St. John's and the remaining non-FB playing schools are going to be part of it.

If the basketball schools are going to make a move it will have to be after the ACC takes UCONN or Lousiville. Once one more football teams leave, the BB-only schools will have enough votes to disband the conference.
SMU Houston etc won't have a vote till they join next fall.

So, we'll know a lot more about whether SJU and Gtown etc want to start their own conference after the ACC makes up its mind and takes UCONN and/or L'ville.

I'm guessing in the meantime the catholic schools are going to get an estimate for what they could get for a tv contract. If it's more per school than what they'd get in this new Big East.. then I think they'll vote to shut it down.
