As Verbal Kint said, Dean Keaton's final F.U. to the NYPD was exposing New York's Finest Taxi Service. Steve Lavin's final F.U. to the SJU basketball program was Amar Alibegovic.
Jones was a starter on my All Time Softy team but I gave him appropriate props for improvement. No question we could use both maturity and muscle but I'd rather see our guys develop.
I'd rather beat Delaware State than watch Alibegowiz and Williams improve, as fulfilling as that is.
Ali played five minutes and had two assists and a rebound in that game. Williams didn't play. Christian Jones doesn't win us that game. He scored 8 points a game last year. What is your infatuation with him?
You say both his 3 point shots missed the mark. Wasn't aware he was trying to make them. :dry:Jones was a starter on my All Time Softy team but I gave him appropriate props for improvement. No question we could use both maturity and muscle but I'd rather see our guys develop.

Alibegovic's level of play -- that's what has some of us infatuated with Christian Jones. (Took three shots tonight, two from 3-point range. Needless to say, both missed the mark.)
With all the minutes Amar got, it tells us how bad Darien Williams must really be that he did not even get one minute of game time...
For the little we saw him play, all we know is that he can foul.
Hope he's majoring in something good and enjoying the free education, travel, meals and hot girls thinking he might have NBA potential .....because it's going to come to an end at some point.
I want to go on record that I read's Fun's game recaps and look forward to them. I just don't agree on Jones.
The bottom line is this is a thread about nothing. Neither Ali or CJ are D1 level players or difference makers. Both seem like good kids and we should probably leave it at that.
Amar had 8 boards tonight in 18 minutes. I will take that every night from him and any of our other forwards and be delighted.

Guys this was against an outmanned Fordham in a blow-out win. Considerin he is a senior you might want to put away the champaign.
Agree with all your points but believe the negativity toward Ali is based on his propensity to frequently hoist up 3 point shots while hitting them at an alarmingly low rate often times immediately upon entering the game. Perhaps if he could be a bit more humble he would actually be a crowd favorite based upon the energy and hustle he brings and the enthusiasm he displays while on the bench. (Or just make the 3s at a much higher rate).I don't get all the Alibegovic hate. The kid plays his heart out on the court and is always invested in the game from the bench. That attitude is exactly what I want from one of the last guys on the bench. He's not a great player, we all know that. He is serviceable though, the expectations just need to be toned down. The real let down thus far has been Sima's play. I'm glad Ali B's on the team this year.

Coach needs to figure out what AA hates most in life, and make that the punishment every time he gets farther than five feet from the basket in a close game.

Agree. Sort of like the Knicks with Charles Oakley. They used to let him take the occasional long outside shot but he did other things at a tremendously high level namely play great defense and rebound, not to mention level people (when that was basically allowed).Agree with all your points but believe the negativity toward Ali is based on his propensity to frequently hoist up 3 point shots while hitting them at an alarmingly low rate often times immediately upon entering the game. If the coaching staff has a problem with it, then it would be addressed and if he continues he would be on the bench IMO. Apparently the staff is ok with it.
i don't think its hate. look at original thread. He just needs to stop taking threes!!I don't get all the Alibegovic hate. Or shoot less 3s and develop his inside game. We are going to need that w Sima gone.Agree with all your points but believe the negativity toward Ali is based on his propensity to frequently hoist up 3 point shots while hitting them at an alarmingly low rate often times immediately upon entering the game.
