I have watched alot of video of De La Rosa. I am just having a hard time getting excited about this prospect.
Height isn't exciting, but it's what we need

Painfully slow, out of shape, bad hands.

No one is saying that he's going to be the savior, but his size makes him intriguing. He may not be done growing and if he gains another inch or two and gets to around 7', and gets himself in shape, we'll be kicking ourselves later for not grabbing him if he's willing to come here(which I'm skeptical that he is). He's not someone to necessarily get excited about, but he fills an important void and there is potential there. Not to mention the fact that we need to start showing CTK some love.

Considering our history with CTK kids like Williams, Cook, Beckett and Barkley, staff should have excellent working relationships with that local school.

It's a whole new staff of people at CTK now, so I am not sure if that is the case anymore.
Realize that, but CTK staff would welcome StJ staff visiting the school and/or attending practice at appropriate times, etc. For whatever reason SL has not. Just for good public relations, "New York's Team" should be highly visible in the local basketball community. Just my opinion.

Aside from Cook and Barkley, we've often gotten CTK's second tier players when you consider Derrick Phelps, Khalid Reeves, Lamar Odom, etc.
Adonis Delarosa, the big 6'11" senior, was able to back his way in and score, while also cleaning up on the glass, and finishing with ease around the rim. He had 11 points at the half, and Rawle Alkins< had 10 as well as the Royals closed the half on an 8-1 run to take a 36-31 lead into the break, and Delarosa knew going in that his size would be a big factor in the game.
"I know no one they have can guard me if I keep the ball high so I just tried to imposed my will and shoot over them," Delarosa said.
Delarosa led Christ the King with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Alkins had 18, along with a big block late in the game as well. Walker and Travis Atson also added 14 and 12 respectively in the win. A win in which Arbitello was excited about because of how good he feels the Terriers are. - See full articlehttp://nychoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1603290#sthash.zSh8QRvc.dpuf
