Adonis De La Rosa,

This kid needs to lose some weight.

You think. Not exactly a brilliant discovery.

Hahaha I'm sorry I've been away from recruiting and who we've been involved with for a long time and just saw his name and googled it and was shocked at how big he was but I shouldn't have posted that though.

Why not? He is our top recruiting prospect for 2014. Hopefully he will get in shape if we sign him.

So he has lost 40-50 pounds? Seems like he's taking things seriously and I would love to have him here next year. He would be a great post player that we really lack right now.

Sign him up. 250 is a much better jumping off point that 300. Always great to have a kid like this on the roster. There will be games every year that the refs allow a kid like this to just dominate. Especially since the college four has become taller SF's that can't dribble and centers have largely become beanpoles that don't have the skill to jump to the NBA.

As stated in the article, college centers have turned into the athletic and long guys and strayed away from the De La Rosa/Josh Smith types. I agree that he would be able to dominate some games against weaker/smaller centers.

There are a surprising amount of athletes who still haven't taken the SAT as of the middle of their senior year. Seems like a silly approach to me, but it happens.

They can't make any official visits until they've taken the SATs, another problem.

True, but many take "unofficials" as Adonis has to St. John's.

And to Fordham.

Actually, most of the top players in the country take the SATs early to get their commitments out of the way before their dream school signs someone else. Very few players are undecided by the Spring and some of those have academic baggage. For the 2014 class, out the top 100 players nationally, 95 have signed a LOI. That leaves 5 players for SJ to allocate three scholies. :p

That's a depressing stat... When I mentioned months ago that I was disappointed that coach had not brought in a recruit yet recd slack and said I needed patience Well still disappointed He should light a bit of a fire
