Adonis De La Rosa,

I'm going with work stoppage in response to a pissing contest over a contract extension.

If because of lack of effort we lose a guy whose brother is currently enrolled, it's probably time to move on. De La Rosa also pretty much assured of a ton of PT that his body isn't nearly ready for.

It's almost like he's daring Monasch to fire him because he knows there's no one in the administration who will sign off on eating the contract.

All that said, I'd lie about my college leanings to build the big reveal up as a surprise.

Why does this all sound familiar??????

Oh year Jarvis.

I must have missed the elite eight!!!!!

A torn ACL kept us from getting there.

Yea, sure!

How important is getting De La Rosa now? If the rumors are correct about quitter Obekpa then we are seriously up sh.ts creek. Unless Lavin has something up his sleeve regarding a center I cannot imagine how bad we will be next year. And who would of thought we'd be in this position after we hired " Willie"( Death of a Salesman ) Lavin.
Think about it - if Jordan and Harrison believe next year will be a disastrous season without Jakarr and CO and desire to leave then we are truly doomed. Don't think it could happen?

He's very important. Centers get in foul trouble so we need to get a minimum of 2 quality bigs. Hopefully Lavin can get us a BE ready JUCO transfer. I also don't feel good about Jones being our lone PF.

Height is important in basketball because it places you closer to the goal (hoop).

That's one of the reasons why centers are important. They are usually the tallest players on the court.

Would you take Paul Sturgess or Anthony Glover?

Glover was an okay player who has inexplicably become a folk hero on this board.

OK so that answers that question.

@adelarosa0920: My commitment date has been changed I will be committing on April 9th !!

interesting:
pure speculation: if you are Lavin and you want to stem the real and perceived bleeding, you have worked your butt off behind the scenes to get this commitment early to show "life will go on".....

But, if Lavin hasn't been trying to salvage the situation by pressing Adonis, then I would take it as a big negative that the player moved up his timeframe. Of course, we don't know what the coach has been up to so my speculation isn't helpful, just
looking for a "hopeful" glimmer in the clouds.

Don't like this announcement. It comes on the heels of last weekend's visit to Pitt, in the midst of our own chaotic state, and about 10 days after he stated we had fallen on his list. Hope I'm wrong, but ...

Unlikely he'd be a big factor next year, but this would be another blow to the program we don't need. Could use at least a little good news.

@adelarosa0920: My commitment date has been changed I will be committing on April 9th !!

If I were a New Yorker and committing to the hometown team, I would announce on the day of the Jordan game in which I am participating in the regional game.

If I am being recruited by a very good out of state team that likely has other options at center and they told me to give them an answer soon or they will move on to the next big man project that they've had pretty good success with, I would move up my commitment date.

Lavin likes the splash and "Old" Lavin would prefer a recruit to do it in a nationally broadcasted game in the recruit's hometown.

"Desperate" Lavin needs all the good PR he can get and is currently scrambling to save face. Sheed's commit date was moved up after a player (Amir) announced his transfer from the program.

This reeks of "Desperate" Lavin and pressure from above. The typical slow play had to have been thrown out the window when you've hit the newspapers yet again.

As per coaches both AAU, HS, and NCAA, Adonis allegedly needs major, major work on his fundamental game. Granted it would be a nice sized pickup, I am told he would be a project and would not make an impact until at least year 3-4.

True, but in the interim he can help fill our desperate need for a couple of big bodies.

His fundamentals are fine. His conditioning is what needs a lot of work. His lack of speed is what it is. But agree he will not have an immediate impact. Just sad that it's come down to us waiting on pins and needles for a kid who should have been a slam dunk for us

I expect Adonis to be donning red hat next week at CTK. Joey too. Just a prediction, but who knows around here.
