Adonis De La Rosa,

@AdamZagoria: Adonis Delarosa set to announce April 18, could now do it at Jordan Game since he was picked for Regional Game. @ctkcoachjarbs

Sampson and Sanchez couldn't cover anyone and rarely boxed out. They also made more mistakes than any front court in the country. Replacing them won't be as difficult as some of you think.

I don't disagree with you regarding Sampson and Sanchez. I know you're not a huge fan of his rebounding in particular, but I'm a huge Christian Jones guy. Can't teach that body, and he attacks the rim ferociously with consistency (something that Sampson and Sanchez did intermittently). I also think he has a chance to be a more polished skilled player offensively than either of them. If his confidence is built up the right way by Lavin (and not jerked around like Branch), I see him stepping in and providing very meaningful contribution next year.

I just don't think ADR, if he comes here, is going to be a big part of the replacement equation immediately. Like Paultz said, more a Gift filler than a major minute filler.

Somewhat true but think he will give us more offense, rebounds and hopefully put backs and picks

I agree with Marillac, Im a Christian Jones fan too. Nothing frustrates me more than not rebounding. You can take 5 bad shots but if you get the Offensive boards and put the 6th shot in , no harm no foul. Point being, i feel Jones will be more a force than Sanchez and he will at least play under the basket unlike 6-8 Jakaar. Gift was the only guy that played tough under but he is not polished enough. Lets hope that Christian Jones offensive game evolved more and his defense will be a force inside with Obekpa.

Well I am a Christian (Catholic actually) and I am Jones-ins for a front court guy who can rebound.

@AdamZagoria: 2014 big man Adonis Delarosa is working on a visit to Pitt this week, he tells @SNYtv. A big target for St. John's, is set to announce 4/18

not to hijack the topic w/ Christian Jones but I'm just wonder what Christian Jones you guys were watching? My biggest question mark with him was why doesn't he rebound better. When he showed his explosive athleticism I questioned this even more (especially since he never showed it in a game). Hopefully an added year of maturity will be a difference maker but he played extremely soft to date.

Soft is an understatement. He was one of the worst rebounders I've ever seen. He can jump for sure, but he looks like he has no quickness whatsoever. I really hope this kid is improved and strangers things have happened. Kids make huge leaps between the frosh and soph year...and he had a whole redshirt to add to it.

Great, now he gets told how superior the ACC is to the Big East, especially following the NCAA and NIT disasters, and especially to team that seems to be in chaos. If he is, in fact, ours to lose, it looks like we're doing our best to do just that.

Be shocked if he is NOT a Johnnie. Shocked!

Dick Hurtz, 6-6 small forward...Helluva 3pt shooter but always seems to be bent over in pain...

No just kidding at this point just keep an eye on some de-commitments.

Does De La Rosa have any more family members? There is plenty of room.

Cousin Juan is a 4'11 scrappy player who could probably fill a front court position in our new guard oriented "Havoc" offense.

I thought he was from Holden, Long Island.

At Portchester Tourney in loss to Briscoe & Gauchos;

@lohudinsider: Christ the King's Adonis De La Rosa had 23 for Frenji. Wadleigh's Lenny Kadisha had 21.

@lohudinsider: Isaiah Briscoe (Roselle Catholic) had 30 for the Gauchos. Isaiah Whitehead (Lincoln) with 23.
