Adonis De La Rosa,

Huge dunk in the game by Travis Alston. Very underrated player.

If he grows a few more inches between now and college, we'll be kicking ourselves for not keeping tabs on him.

Do you really see him growing though? Tough yes. Gritty yes. I don't know where he plays. Maybe if Pecora got off his phone tonight that would be the highest Travis should go.

Was at the game. Adonis had some decent post moves, passed well, hit a jumper and had nine rebounds. He still has lot of work to do, especially in fitness area. He does not get off the floor at all & that won't work at the next level. Good to see Whitesell, Chiles & Lavin. All in all, Adonis is worth the risk. Decent touch, inside game and deft passing are real positives. Hopefully he commits to improving voids noted.

Pecora was working the phones to find his next job

FYI-
Lavin and Co. are watching CTK vs Cardinal Hayes

De La Rosa and Ekwu covering each other, I assume? I know JPM liked Ekwu.

They did cover each other a lot. JPM was there as well.

Adonis eats up space. He creates attention that Atson and Akins can swoop in and even the little guards for boards.

Ekwu was intriguing. Hit a nice 3. Couple blocks. 6'7 at the most. Is he '15 or '14. Would like to see him with more time. Not for '14 IMO.

I think he has a higher ceiling. I don't see why he can't be a shooting guard. He can jump out of the gym, handle the ball and shoot well. He needs to improve his defense but he is not slow. Wait to next year and the offers will start to come in.

Sorry but he can't jump out of the gym. The dunk he had tonight was nice as it was over someone but his hand was barely there. I don't want to sound like the kid has no game. If was Pecora I'd want him on my team in a heartbeat. A MAAC school no question. Just think he's getting more hype from some posters than he should be.

If offers haven't come in yet next year I'd be worried they are last minute stop gap offers where he's going somewhere too high for himself and will get recruited over. A-10 is the ceiling to me.

Sorry but you're really overhyping this kid.

Like overboard.

Kid is on the same team as Alkins and all you can rave about is him?

While the senior may be focused on Sunday, Royals coach Joe Arbitello announced on Twitter this week that Delarosa will make his college decision on April 18.

St. John’s head coach Steve Lavin and assistant coach Tony Chiles were in attendance on Thursday. St. John’s has no commits for the Class of 2014 yet, but needs to add at least one big man with Orlando Sanchez and God’sgift Achiuwa on the way out.

Delarosa said he didn’t even notice Lavin in the crowd and that he will be making visits to prospective schools in a few weeks.

“In mid-March, I will be making official visits but I haven’t narrowed anything down yet,” he said. “I don’t have a top five at this point.”

Arbitello said that St. John’s, Fordham, Rutgers, Hofstra and South Carolina are the schools that have expressed the most interest in Delarosa, and while the senior says he has no favorites, he isn’t sure if he will play his college ball in the Tri-State area.

“I’m open to everybody,” Delarosa said. “I don’t know if I’m going to be staying in New York for college.”

“I never get into that stuff,” Arbitello added, when asked if he knew where Delarosa was leaning. “We’ll talk about it when the season’s over.”

The best thing I hear about this kid, from everybody really, is that he can pass. I love it

Alkins is a top 50 recruit. I am saying that I think Alston can be effective in the new Big East.

Have changed my mind on him. Worth the investment. Tom Konchalski thinks so as well. I saw his 6' 9" brother Joey there cheering Adonis on. He left FIU after two years.

In a recent article,I think Zagsblog, he says he wants to concentrate on his weight and conditioning. He said he lost weight and now weighs 265, he's going to hit the weights and get down to 250 for college. I think he fills a need. We could use a big body. What I don't understand w these recruits is all the secrecy. He's going to announce in a month, yet he implies he is wide open and could go anywhere.

Just the way kids play it. Would be shocked if we don't get him.

comparable to stainbrook?

Tom, he does have some Stainbrook qualities; obviously big, has soft hands, decent post moves, passes well & jumps like I do or can't. He could have better jump shot in time.

I use to play with a kid who was 6-5 could not jump a lick but was 286lbs box out well. Also developed a hook shot which players much bigger could not stop If handled and taught Adonis be a force .Think he signs with us

Obviously no way of knowing if he'll grow, but he's only a junior. At this point he's more of a MAAC or A-10 kid, like you've said before. Just would like the staff to keep better tabs on the local under-the-radar kids and take a leap of faith on one of them every now and then. Especially ones from the top tier programs.
