Adonis De La Rosa,

One evaluator's opinion;

@SteveKellerNRR: 2nd Semi saw Christ the King smoke St Raymond's 77-53/6'9 Sr Adonis Delarosa plays below rim but still gets it done/becoming serviceable HM

That's what I saw at the game. He's not a shot blocker. He uses his big body to gain position on offense and defense. He has a nice little pull up jumper and can hit it from 15 feet. Needs to slim down and add muscle. Definitely some upside.

Comparable to Stainbrook?

Hopefully, would take that.

See Texas big man Cameron Ridley. Huge as a freshman struggled to get up and down court, slimmed down during off season added muscle, has been a force this year down low and is front runner for big 12 most improved player of the year. Could definitely see a similar thing happening for Adonis, depends on the kids work ethic.

I think Ridley was more skilled coming into college, but not a crazy comparison.

I actually think Adonis is more skilled, but Ridley is more explosive. Adonis might also be an inch and a half bigger, but it looks like Ridley has a longer reach.

Nobody knows how good Adonis could be with a body recomposition. He could pickup a ton of explosiveness if he listens to the strength coach. There could easily be a top 50 recruit in that body somewhere.

Looking forward to going to Fordham Thursday to see Adonis go against Ekwu of Cardinal Hayes, a talented power player.

It's great to see Cardinal Hayes back up at the top. They will benefit a great deal with the closing of Rice. I grew up being force fed tape every basketball camp on Monroe-Woobury v. Cardinal Hayes when they had Mashburn and we had a pair of kids go on to start in the MAAC.

Ekwu will be a big challenge for Adonis.

@ctkcoachjarbs: Adonis Delarosa will make college decision on April 18.

DelaRosa game at 8.

@msg_varsity: #MSGV_Live games airing Thurs: @fciac boys hoops final (Greenwich vs. Central); CHSAA AA intersect. semis (St. Peter's-Loughlin, CK-Hayes)

I am going to the 6 o'clock game for St. Peter's. Going to see how long my son will last as I would like to De La Rosa in person.

I've never heard of St. Peter's except for my family in Jersey. Is this a NYC school?

Saw a few clips doe not wow me Hope they get him to lose wt. With right teachers he could have a huge upside Size wise saw several estimates from 6-10 to 7-0 Wt from 250 to 300 lbs

Closer to 6'10" and 300. He doesn't possess "wow" factor. Maybe he develops in to a solid big body at next level. He's a work in progress.
