Any update on our AD search?
Nah it’s just months it’s more like the white bronco rideIt's going like OJ's search for the real killers.
So AC is looking for the AD?Nah it’s just months it’s more like the white bronco ride
Maybe because anyone of the following:How is that we here know of at least to or three people we would like and are qualified and yet SJU hasn't made any progress form what it seems and yet has to hire a national search firm? lol
Have no fear we will resurrect WGBB 1240 so that only the one guy that climbs atop the radio station’s antenna can receive a weak signal that goes in and out.Lost opportunity here without an Athletic Director, we have the best coach in arguably the history of the program and we're losing out on hometown radio deals to Rutgers:
Rutgers basketball: WFAN 660-AM is new radio home
Hazlet's Jerry Recco will continue to be Rutgers basketball's play-by-play voice, now on the station where he made his name.www.app.com
No offense, but with a top tier NIL bankroll, a HOF coach now at the helm, expanded msg format and new seatbacks at CA, and a brand new basketball facility in the works, and oh ya a like top 20 team, how do you figure we are still in free fall? The radio or lack there of, is just another example of how far our program has fallen. I mean we can’t get on one of the terrestrial stations in NY. We lost out on 970 am or 570am. What a joke. On weekends a lot of alumni/fans are in the car doing errands etc and would love to hear the game on the radio. No you need to get the red storm app on your phone or something like that. What a joke.
This is shocking, although given how noteworthy stations have changed format over the years (WLIR, WPLJ, K Rock) it isn’t surprising. It is a little surprising that they are switching to AM, as the trend has been the opposite the last few years. I think both TV and radio, in the traditional sense, are becoming a thing of the past.WCBS NEWS Radio now the ESPN station on AM.
What's a radio?Way before the internet, way before GPS, way before Google maps and Waze, Neal Busch in the News 88 chopper had rush hour drivers glued to that station to learn what the heck was holding up traffic in front of them.
Twice an hour, around 15band 45 minute mark, you could hear the latest sports news fish off the wires.
In and around NYC, CBS News Radio 88 and 1010 WINS gave us the c world in 22 minutes - latest news, weather, sports, and traffic.
Yes, the internet sort of made news radio obsolete. But in a very real way, you could trust what you were being told over the staticky AM radio waves. It was concise, factual, and honest.
I would certainly hope there is a place in the world for honest, factual reporting. But perhaps that died long before News Radio 88.
Just to clarify, ESPN radio can now be heard on the 880 AM “dial” along with 98.7 on the FM “dial” similar to WFAN (660 AM and 101.9 FM).This is shocking, although given how noteworthy stations have changed format over the years (WLIR, WPLJ, K Rock) it isn’t surprising. What is not shocking is seeing this thread morph from”AD Search” to “AM Search”.
As an aside, Neal Busch went to St John's while flying the helicopter.Way before the internet, way before GPS, way before Google maps and Waze, Neal Busch in the News 88 chopper had rush hour drivers glued to that station to learn what the heck was holding up traffic in front of them.
