a lot of endlessly repetitive chatter
Fwiw.....it's not an oversight. Mr. Earlington is seeing something he doesn't like.

Wow. Yet another indictment of this staff, from someone who is just starting to experience this staff.

Probably because his kid would have done well to have some instruction over the summer and hasn't seen any member of staff on campus yet.
Except that this isn't true. The staff has been on campus this summer and has worked out with players. Mullin personally oversaw multiple daily sessions with various players showing up at different times. As did St. Jean.
Mitch has been in Cali. Mullin was in the Bay area most of the summer. You must have caught him on a rare campus appearance.

While I agree about mismanagement this summer, I don't think the dad should be putting in his two cents like that. I would presume being a parent of one of the players, he has other channels he can go through to express his concerns in a more private manner. It doesn't look good for him or the staff to do that in my opinion.
Seems clear from JohnnyFan's last post that Mr. Earlington is unhappy with the staff. Hard to believe that can be a second misreading on his part. May just be a squeaky wheel but not a good look to have tweets like these.
He knows how to get our attention. This should be good for five more pages on this thread.

Perhaps the staff made certain promises like being tutored by 2 Hall of Fame players and perhaps he doesn't like the idea that a 28 year old assistant is actually running things.

Definitely a possibility. I'm just saying that perhaps he could set up a meeting with Chris when he's in New York, instead of handling it on a public forum like Twitter.

based on two dad tweets, perhaps Earlington becomes the preseason favorite for "Most Likely To Transfer" award

Why can't life be simple in Redman Nation?
Or seemingly never-endingly positive, like in Duke Devil Country, or in Kentucky DerbyVille, or at DarthVader U in Cow County CT, or at Hooker U in Lousville?
Why not like in those places...?
Where have we gone wrong?
Which Hoop Gawds should we pray to?
Can’t wait for the games to begin.
Then, we can at least dispute something real.

I'm pretty sure he's already been here a few days longer than Sid Wilson, so he's got that going for him.

Your post, and I know how you know this to be true, is what absolutely galls me about some of our posters. They don't have a damned factual clue as to what's happening, yet have created this narrative as if its fact because some very negative people here spread it around.

I don't have the time or desire to monitor the daily whereabouts of activities of our coaches, yet guys who have too much time on their hands and very little facts choose to spread horseshit so virulent that double shifting uber drivers write nauseating proclamations of fact with no actual proof. Damnit, even with court approved wiretaps, and a detail of private investigators you woukdnt know for certain how our coaches interact with players or each other, or how they prepare for games or practice.

Practice what you preach guys. Many if you cant make it out to CA because traffic is too bad, the seats are not comfy, or it's too hot inside and too cold outside. Others skip 9 pm garden games because they are too late. Still others are local but dont go to games at all, instead bitching her that the team isnt good enough.

The winner though is the guy who looks to score free tickets here but asserted we shouldnt buy tickets until the school gets it and produces a winner. Shit, there's some irony there.

Shit guys, are your lives so damned miserable that you have nothing better to do than malign people who are working to turn this program into winners?

Oh yea. Our coach makes $2 MM. Yea it's a shit load of money for those of us who are or were in the rat race. Begrudge it, but the last guy made that much and so will the next guy. Yea, our staff is well paid, get over it.

If someone isnt working hard, the ARE people with influence who will force Mullin's hand if he wont do it himself.

But PLEASE, stop the daily entree of leftover bullshit. It isnt good, it isnt real food, and tastes even worse reheated.

No matter what the iq or intellect is, any parent of a player who becomes part of the public dialogue via social media is flat out stupid.

Seems the disdain is for Richmond and not making any appearance on summer recruiting trail or working w/kids over full summer when allowed based on rules. Our traveling secretary did though.

Richmond might be texting kids but doubtful if he's never seen them play. Unlikely he's scouring over You Tube mixtapes.

Mullin gets it carryover for it being on his watch.

If Richmond has been there someone would know. Doubt a five month spring & summer sabbatical would fly for an assistant coach on woman's BB team.

As a fan and alum, it just irks me that we paid for NBA star power w/ Richmond and it's not being maximized with recruits.

Agree RedStormNC. At this point, I just wish this ‘noise’ could go away. From Mitch to Rice to our recruiting snags.
All of it has gnawed at the Board for months.
Let the games begin.

Too much negativity! We are St. Johns! Im so upset that our current players probably read some of this crap. We are the powerhouse program in the greatest city in America. We have two TRUE winners as our coaches. We have a lot of classy successful fans that cant wait to see their team. To our players: Dont believe the nonsense and negativity! We are St. Johns and the garden will rock thus year!!!

Mitch Mitch Mitch the Mitch is Baaaaaack!

Maybe next summer we can just send guys to live with Mitch for two months. He can train them for few hours in the morning, and then with the rest of his day do what he ordinarily liked to do when he was retired.

This is a solid idea. It would also save on postage since the players could hand deliver his summer paychecks.

Thank you for this post. I was a bit disgusted by the whole Mike Rice post. One of our insiders was gracious enough to share some of what was going on behind the scenes, and then a whole crew began gossiping based off of that information and made assumptions which they convinced themselves were fact. It's pretty bad.

I second Room112's comments, right on the money Beast.
