a lot of endlessly repetitive chatter

The unfortunate thing about Johnnies Pride's tweets is that Marcellus Earlington's father is now retweeting and posting his agreement.

That's a problem.
I've posted before that Mitch has a lot to offer. His NBA stats are really impressive, but for you younger guys they don't even tell the full story of what a great player he was. And his interviews out here on Bay Area sports radio are always good. He should be able to be a good recruiter, and he certainly should be able to help run a practice effectively. We just need him to commit to the job.

We need two good-to-great players for next season to keep the quality of play and excitement we'll have this season going. Mitch and Chris need to help get them.
The problem is , his commitment to the job is a very important part of the equation. Without it, he makes a poor AC. I’m not optimistic based on his non involvement over the summer. But,maybe he will step up.

He’s unhappy and his kid hasn’t even started his freshmen classes yet? Wait til Ponds starts ignoring him on the pick and roll and jackin 3’s in practice LOL. What a dysfunctional circus.

I consulted with a seed reading instructor on how to more swiftly read all the lengthy posts on the topic. He did a speed-read of the board, and told me to, regardless of the topic, just look at the poster's screen name. You will then know what the post says without spending a lot of time reading it. It's working like a charm. I have a lot more free time.

Looks like we have our backfill for Owens' Dad.

I wonder if Dad didn't misread the original tweet. His reply could be interpreted that way i.e. positive affirmation rather than indictment.

I had that same thought and you may be right. In addition to the comment, he did also re-tweet it. So he either misread the post or he is unhappy about something.

If he misread it, I would think someone will get to him and it will be deleted. We'll see.

Is it definitely his father or some other family member like a sibling, uncle etc?

I'm confident Earlingtons father will like Mitch when he meets him on campus at the end of the year

His dad, but I agree with Paul. This is a non issue imo.

Man, reading this thread is tiring and mostly meaningless. I do want to make one personal point about Mitch. Like Paultz I feel Mitch's best role would be in individual skills development, preferably as a special asst, but if he's gonna be an AC he should still concentrate on this. But you know when a great time to do that is? In the freaking summer when all the guys are on campus, haning in the gym, working out and playing pickup with minimal class work and no organized classes. I do believe coaches are still allowed to work with players individually and maybe in small groups over this period and remember hearing about other staff's doing that in the past. This is also something that bothers me about the absentee nature of the staff, even if CM did pump up his recruiting efforts and even if this upcoming season does look like it will be a good one. The summer campus situation is just another thing that makes me think that this staff either doesn't know how to run a program or isn't dedicated enough.

Fwiw.....it's not an oversight. Mr. Earlington is seeing something he doesn't like.

Probably because his kid would have done well to have some instruction over the summer and hasn't seen any member of staff on campus yet.

Except that this isn't true. The staff has been on campus this summer and has worked out with players. Mullin personally oversaw multiple daily sessions with various players showing up at different times. As did St. Jean.

Good, then I stand corrected. Mitch too?

I know nothing about Mitch. We interviewed St. Jean a couple weeks ago and the gym was very active. Current and former players.

Cool, what were you interviewing him for?

Seems clear from JohnnyFan's last post that Mr. Earlington is unhappy with the staff. Hard to believe that can be a second misreading on his part. May just be a squeaky wheel but not a good look to have tweets like these.
