a lot of endlessly repetitive chatter

Imo, Lewis & Aidan at the end of the day are just beyond the program at this point, but obviously you have to still give it a shot via official visits when feasible.
Still think that IF rice emerges from the steam, we have a decent shot at Scottie or Aidan. But, I could be delusional.
If both players were sure to join Rice, my guess is he would need a bodyguard to fend off all of the suitors. That seems to be how this game is played.

Depressing truths.
But Figgy ‘might’ be that 3-pt sharpshooter, and Ponds May repair his long-range accuracy back to the 37% range of his freshman year.
Eli Wright was once a 40% shooter from long range, maybe he can resurrect that?
We shall see.
I meant defensively - we can't close on a 3-pt shooter defensively. even jesse govan cans 3's on us
Both Heron and Figgy are said to be tough on D.
We shall see.
I'd put the likelihood at Heron getting the waiver at about 8%, slightly up from 5% because of the waivers granted to others earlier this week. In fact, "hardship waiver applications" should have been #9 on my list.
I know you hope you're wrong on Heron.
I hope and think so. It would make zero sense that the NCAA would deny Heron given the ongoing forward movement on the transfer issue that is there current policy, and also given the legitimacy of the Heron Family's need, plus the fact the kid is a model student-athlete and Auburn 'supported' his transfer.
Nah, can't see this going against the Heron Family--even if St. John's filled the waiver forms out with crayon.
No way.
The Herons need this and they get this, and we benefit from it.
And here's to his mom's good health and recovery.

If we need to hire an AC every time we hope to land a 5* recruit, it will get expensive. Program is headed in the right direction and if we keep the trajectory upwards we will get to a point where we can land an occasional 5 star, while thriving off the 4 and 3 star guys.

If we get a positive ruling on MH ( I am optimistic but not going to assume good news until it happens), we will have 4 guys who have proven they are top flight high major contributors and three others in Dixon, Keita & Figueroa who should be very solid this year. Add in Trimble & Williams and there is no reason we are not top 4 in BE.

OK, the 8% thing is a defensive mechanism. If i don't get my hopes up, I won't be disappointed. But truthfully I'd probably put it at about 50/50. If it were any other school it would probably be higher. That's just how I'm trained to think at this point. Hope for the best for us and as you say for the family of course.

Yep. Time to leave the big East and become a mid major program.

Right, NCJohnnie, nobody’s calling for musical chairs of ACs.
That’d be unstable for the program and God knows we don’t need that.
Was just noodling that, given our current AC need, maybe we catch a break, then, of course, maybe we don’t.
I also am very positive on our 2018-19 roster and think Figgy will be a positive surprise.
We shall see.

Cant just rely on transfers and the occasional jc IMHO.
I don't think we can rely on immediately eligible senior transfers. There's just too much competition and I'm done getting my hopes up for a big man to fall into our laps that way.

I think we can be the premier destination for reclamation projects on the East Coast, though. Nevada seems to have staked their claim out west, although the Zags may still have them beat. Matt certainly proved at his last job that he knows how to do it. And he can point to Simon and Clark's numbers as evidence that a kid should come here. Even better if Wright steps in two years from now and posts 10+ ppg. We just need Simon not to leave for another school after this season. . .
Still think the plan has always been to get high talent in here through transfer, until we build a consistent winner and are able to attract high level recruits again.

Once again another thread goes off the rails. This is supposed to be about Lewis, can't we keep it that way?

Halftime of the first game? Halftime of the first BE game? Halftime of the first BET game? Let's see what Left Coast Mullin has up his sleeve? Oh wait,
Left Coasters wear short sleeves (and flip flops of coarse).

Keep the faith. Something will happen. You did your best in keeping hope alive with your threads. It made for an interesting summer.;) I hope my sarcastic comments have not been taken personally by anyone over the summer.
I'm no longer the super fan like you, Beast, Mike, and others continue to be but you guys are the heart and soul of this site.

Indeed 85, that is the $6 million question. Or to be more precise the $250-300K question....
