The ‘soap opera’ and melodrama in ‘deciding to make a Staff change or stay put undermanned’ is laughable as much as it is frustrating.
At this point, ‘whatever’.

Do you prefer that this place be a ghost town in summer? I don't. It used to be way back when, and I hated it. I'm glad there are people talking.

Ah shucks, '72--no doubt, you are one of the 'super fans' of this site.
Your targeted sarcasm often hits the eye-of-the-needle; the rest of the time, you're funny as all hell.
I laugh even when I disagree.
That's talent!
Keep it up...and Let's Go Johnnies.

What I prefer is that threads try to stay on topic and not get hijacked. And it seems so do the mods because this has been moved to the endlessly repetitive chatter thread, where it belongs.

I gave my password to Jerseyshorejohnny. I've ruffled a lot of feathers over the years and my biggest regret was JSJ was one. No one on this site has done more for Alma Mater under both good and bad situations.
THAT'S A SUPER FAN!

Indeed 85, that is the $6 million question. Or to be more precise the $250-300K question....[/quote]

Is it more the financial issue of taking on Rice salary, having to pay off Richmond or just Mullin/Admin not sure if they want him?

Good question, but at this point, I’m exhausted on this. ‘
Not sure that they want him ‘compared’ to ‘what’, a no-show AC and a shortfall in recruiting personnel?
I repeated myself (again).
Sorry.

You...you...WHAT?! SEND HIM TO THE PIT OF MISERY!

On a positive note, Brian Trimble looks great working out with Marvin Clarke.

He had to have lost over 20 pounds minimum.

I saw this training video of Clark earlier and Trimble is in it... Not sure about 20 lbs but looks a bit fitter.

I'm expecting an excellent senior year from Clark. No one works harder. Can't wait for the season to get here - less than 3 months now!

Agree. He really came on offensively. A key to me is increasing his rebounding proficiency in light of how the team is constituted.

Exactly, if Keita and Clark can both show a desire/hunger to board it will greatly help the team. As we all know Ponds and Simon are excellent rebounders for guards, and so too is Heron but I am not counting on his eligibility just drawing your attention to that fact. Commitment to rebounding and defense will be the keys to a successful season IMHO.

Sort of fitting for an endlessly repetitive chatter thread, popular topic last summer was Clark and Simon, whether they could really play but weren't quite Zona/MSU level, or if expectations should be tempered.

From my perspective both crushed any reasonable expectation.

Good numbers with high-efficiency, 45+% field / 40+% 3. Simon stat stuffed. Clark made almost 30% of total team 3s, leading team by wide margin with 65, from the 4.

But perhaps more than that thought both brought a leadership, maturity, toughness, work ethic, and consistency among other things. Very few games off for either of them. Stepped up majorly in games Ponds was out, against 3 tourney teams no less (@SHU, Butler, @Providence), 3 games we had next to no business being in, went 1-2, almost won all 3 including 2 on road.

Think a lot of that is who they are, but also the value in getting guys 2-3 years removed from high school who have spent time at premium programs. Give me guys who are fringe guys at Top 5-10 programs pretty much any day, as they can probably really help SJU.

If 2-3 of the newcomers are 70-80% of Clark/Simon (or better) and team stays healthy SJU could really be off to races this year.
