a lot of endlessly repetitive chatter

Brian looks like he has put in the work! Good for him
if Keita and Clark can both show a desire/hunger to board it will greatly help the team.
Clark was 23rd in rebounding the conference last year (4.7) and averaged 6+ per game over his last 12 games, as opposed to less than 4 over his first 21. An average of 6 would have put him in the top 10 in the league. I thought he really started to get it come league play and would be surprised if he does not continue an upward trajectory.

Ponds and Simon are excellent rebounding guards
If Keita and Clark pull their weight as well, we'll be fine on the boards
I'm really getting excited for the season to get started
This should be the best team that we've had in several years

Agree. He really came on offensively. A key to me is increasing his rebounding proficiency in light of how the team is constituted.
Exactly, if Keita and Clark can both show a desire/hunger to board it will greatly help the team. As we all know Ponds and Simon are excellent rebounders for guards, and so too is Heron but I am not counting on his eligibility just drawing your attention to that fact. Commitment to rebounding and defense will be the keys to a successful season IMHO.
Based on Clark’s tweets this summer, no one should be questioning his “hunger” lol

Well, being a guy—even if an old one—there’s a difference from being ‘hungry’ and being HUNGRY!
NBA $$$$$$$’s may define the difference.

Naruto headband!! Thats awesome, keep up the hard work Marvin.

Both Clark and Simon were really solid pickups. Both would at least merit rotation time on top 15 teams. I like Simon's ceiling a bit better, especially if his offense improves. Clark is too much a perimeter player at his size. You'd love to see 8 to 10 rebounds per game out of him, but it likely wont happen. Also would like him to develop an inside game.

Despite ability to shoot from 3, I wouldn't want either to take the final shot with us down by one.

That being said, love both these kids and they will be part of the solid core that could bring us a tourney bid.

For the first time in this staff's tenure I am excited about the season. If Justin improves his shooting form he could be an NBA player. Marvin on the other hand is in that bastard height range of 6'6 - 6'7 where NBA teams shy away because there are so many players in the 6'9 and above range at his position. He will be a good player in the overseas market.

It had been said BT had gotten in better shape and then a while back I believe it was Beast who reported he was not in good shape. If this video was recent he looks to be in pretty good shape.

Nice stroke.

BT has the kind of frame where he is never going to be slim, but he has clearly put in the work to drop the excess baggage and is looking great in this workout. This year he should be right where he needs to be; regular rotation player (say 8th man) on a solid BE team. Looking forward to the games beginning!

He shoots it super pretty. He looks like he has perfect form. He probably has the best form on the team. He's gonna have a huge year if Heron is eligible. With Ponds and Heron drawing all sorts of attention on drives to the hoop, Marvin will be open all day long if he even barely makes an attempt to move without the ball.

Had not seen him and was communicating reliable second hand info. More than happy to be wrong on this one.
Deepest backcourt in many years. This team should be able to play 40 minutes of hell.
W Heron yes, we will be deep. With out him , We would not have the depth to play 40 minutes of hell, IMO.

As Panther said the other day, few teams will be able to stay with us (with Heron eligible).
Also, thinking the D will ratchet up a few notches, with Heron and Figgy, a more-focused Shamorie, Dixon, Trimble, Clark the lean, mean, fighting machine, Keita hopefully wolfing down rebounds, and Williams, who played tough D in HS.
Let the games begin, indeed!

Hopefully, we’re not disappointed, but I cannot imagine the NCAA will deny Mustapha’s hardship waiver. Nothing to do with St. John’s and everything to do with the right thing to do to comply with a true need at a time when transfer rules are changing, and the NCAA should treat the Heron case as an opportunity to establish appropriate standards on the hardship waiver.

But, when has doing the right thing been a criteria for the NCAA. That said, they do seem to be more liberal with their transfer rules lately. Fingers crossed.
