a lot of endlessly repetitive chatter

I'd bank on the 4th. They are not going to want to start him on a day that is a paid holiday.

That paid holiday date has been holding up finalization of the deal. By the end of next week the entire staff will be back and Mullin will settle all family business, including the hit on Mitch Richmond.;)

THAT is fantastic news 72. If you said it I WILL TAKE IT TO THE BANK. We really need him and the recruits he can bring

He may have a job by the 3rd ... but the question is: where?

Great new, '72! I'll iighten up. Thanks.

Fwiw my educated sense is there is nothing definite to date on Rice joining staff. Perhaps 72 has better info.

Someone really should alert Mike Rice to this threads existence. Pretty sure he would be flattered. Probably confused, baffled and maybe even a little frightened at how much the people on here think about him.

I suspect he knows. I think there'd also be more laugher than fright on his end. Or maybe a combo nervous laugh.

I may be stating the obvious, but it sounds like this is very unlikely to happen at this point, correct?
Things we can't #CLOSE on:

1. Highly ranked recruits out of high school
2. An assistant coach
3. An A/D
4. An OOC game against a respectable opponent not named Duke
5. Arena renovations
6. A close game
7. A 3-point shooter
8. A thread
Depressing truths.
But Figgy ‘might’ be that 3-pt sharpshooter, and Ponds May repair his long-range accuracy back to the 37% range of his freshman year.
Eli Wright was once a 40% shooter from long range, maybe he can resurrect that?
We shall see.

I meant defensively - we can't close on a 3-pt shooter defensively. even jesse govan cans 3's on us

Both Heron and Figgy are said to be tough on D.
We shall see.

I'd put the likelihood at Heron getting the waiver at about 8%, slightly up from 5% because of the waivers granted to others earlier this week. In fact, "hardship waiver applications" should have been #9 on my list.
