a lot of endlessly repetitive chatter

"Why can't we all just get along."
Said by Rodney King, black man dragged out of his vehicle and beaten by LA cops leading to the hugely destructive Watts riots.
The Watts Riots were in 1965; LA did riot after the Rodney King beating in 1992...those had several labels, and I think ‘spread’ across the country.

Off topic a bit, though admittedly squarely in the "repetitive" sub category, is there a single 2019 recruit that is a St. John's lean (i.e., more likely to commit to us than not) at this point? If the answer is no (Spoiler alert: it is no), does that bother anyone?
Part A. No
Part B. Not in ecstasy, but coping :)

I believe that quote is from the memoirs of the late, great race car driver Rodney King. But I agree with your sentiment.
Therefore I suggest we have a redmen.com pre-season reunion. Rather than meeting here in NYC I suggest a midpoint location in New York like the Albany area. That way we can finally meet and bury the hatchet.
If there is an alum in the Albany area willing to host the event just let us know. Special guests will include Fun as master of ceremonies, OTIS who will do a special presentation on the value of hiring outside counsel when dealing with NCAA appeals, Frank who will do a one slide presentation on the advantages of living in Syracuse in the winter, Al Bovino on the pros and cons of escaping Canada and retiring to Florida, Mike Zaun on the importance of size when ordering tee shirts, OhioFan will provide the beer and bratwurst while wearing his lederhosen, SlyFox and Logen who will do their coach of the year to Mullin routine and Mike Maher Jr, who's going to devour 20 lobster roles in 5 minutes for a Guiness world record.
Everyone is urged to avoid the arrival of Beast of the East as he has a tendency to hit things while driving.
Paultzman has advised me that he can't make it as he will be in Los Angeles searching for Mitch Richmond.

FWIW, I asked Zach B the following question a short while ago, and he answered "C"

Multiple choice - percent chance of a St. John's coaching move this off-season: (a) zero chance, (b) 1-10%, (c) 11-25%, (d) 26-50%, (e) greater than 50%?

In related news, I am re-evaluating my entire life

I asked Zach B whether he thought Heron would get cleared before the season (my life re-evaluation ended quickly) with same answer choices as above and his answer was "D". Yikes. Not surprised since we are dysfunctional, but still, yikes.

I asked Zach what % of the coaching will be done by GSJ and his answer was "e".
I asked Zach what % of the recruiting Mitch Richmond has and will be doing and his answer was "a".

LOL...love it 72. My only request is to please invite Dave so I can show him how to properly mail someone's t-shirt within a month of receiving a customer's payment. That's the other part that gets lost on everyone...he got mad that I embarrassed him by asking why I hadn't received it and looking back it wasn't the best idea to do so in a thread on the forum, but I was totally new at the time so didn't know how to PM. I asked for a refund and all hell broke loose. I was selling a decent amount of those "Storm the Garden" shirts until MSG lawyers gave me a little phone call. So I guess shirts are what I'll always be infamous for.

Anyway, I'd rather be known for unrelenting accountability I push for this program we all love. We all want SJ to succeed badly. Most if not all of us spend lots of money on this program. Even those who debate against me want the best for us. The problem is that our staff is incompetent from what they've shown us thus far and next year is all or nothing. As someone else said, we are not even a frontrunner for any 2019 major recruit. Still hope we have a great year next year, but basically everyone's gone and we start all over again the season after that. Then maybe we can be called the youngest team in America again to shush any naysayers :)

How about sju wins the be tourney goes to the dance and makes it to 16! I think that would change the recruiting scene as well as most other ills! Go St. JOHNS!
Our 2018-19 roster looks great, and I'm very grateful that Matt A was able to recruit top talent via the Transfer Pipeline.
But concern emerges when looking at the roster 'as is' post the 2018-19 season.
We're likely to lose 3 - 4 top players after next season: Clark definitely, Ponds and Heron are likely departures, and potentially Simon, as that 'elusive' "Grad Transfer' type who would move elsewhere.
So, our roster will probably include: Figueroa, Dixon, Keita, Trimble, Williams,Roberts, Earlington, Wright, and Caraher.
We'll need at least 3 solid - top recruits to fill some gaps and be ready to play in 2019-20.
Meanwhile, we're short 1 full-time AC, who 'normally' would be our 2nd full recruiter, likely focusing on the HS/AAU pipeline to bring in the talent we need.
We don't have him.
That's the rub.
Our roster looks great this year?
Our starters were great last year, and we're only returning Ponds, Clark and Simon.
If Herons can play then we'll have 4 guys.
Our bench will be better then last years, but great? Ummm lets wait on that one, and you need more then 4 guys for a great roster. May we have a great roster? Maybe, but we don't know yet.

Fair enough, Old School. I may be looking at the glass more than half-full.
