Gotcha, so what you really meant was "Why didn't Stanley play??????????????????????" But in your exuberance you said, "Why didn't Wusu and Stanley play?????????????????", because, as we know, you "never want Wusu in there". At least you are consistent.
No I was simply wondering why they were kept out of the game? Whether they were hurt or another reason.😂 Don’t you have anything better to do?

Down 8 with 3 minutes to play, in a game that was probably their worst performance in a couple years. No Stanley no Wusu. Not that they deserve praise but think it’s a tad bit of an over reaction to pack up and forget about the rest of the season. On another point the ooc games are usually scheduled a bit in advance if I’m correct, so how did staff and school realize cuse fsu temple etc were gonna be weak opps? And did we figure Iowa state would be our toughest game besides the couple of big east big guys? Just some thoughts I’ll still root for the guys the rest of the way.

Our two hyped point guards had 12 of the 20 turnovers.
After the first 10 minutes we scored TWO POINTS at the free throw line. We shot ZERO PERCENT during those 10 minutes.
We lost the game in those 10 minutes of the worst basketball a St. John's team has played in YEARS.
This team has not been ready to play in the first half all season thus far.
We are missing leaders on the court and on the sidelines thus far. No more Mr. NICE GUY coach!
Get Posh and Curbelo on the same page......that is our biggest flaw to date.

Holy overreaction Batman.

An 11 point loss on the road to a ranked team is the worst basketball St. John's has played in years??? Really??? Come on man get some sleep and rethink that. It's been a long day.

Not much to say other than our team probably played as poorly could ever be imagined. And still only lost by 11 to a ranked team on the road. Not painting this as any sort of positive, just some perspective. Will be important to see how we bounce back against DePaul.

I'm glad I was at my granddaughter's birthday party during the game.
I watched the Jets ineptitude at scoring touchdowns in the red zone. Switched channels at the end of that game to see if it was worth starting he DVR to watch the St. John’s game from the beginning and decided I had better things to do.

I was hoping for a good showing at least but evidently that was not the case. Adjust, move on and win the Big East opener.

Only thing I really want to know is the reason(s) why Stanley and Wusu didn’t play. Injury, Illness, disciplinary?

Establish Soriano in the paint. That’s how the game should have started. They had 3 shots in the first 5 minutes. The point guards need to take care of the ball better. Also Jones is really sloppy with the ball and a lazy passer. Clean it up!

It is an amazing feat if any team in any sport goes undefeated. It's been rarely done. One loss does not end the season, however it's what the team takes from their losses that improves them and gels themselves as a team and makes them better. Let's all just calm down and see where this loss takes us.

My posts was directed at posters on here that love going into the "Around the Big East" thread and bragging on other coaches in the conference when they win and always bashing their own coach even in a win, but when those coaches lose they are conveniently absent from posting there. I don't like hypocrisy like that, and I'm calling it out.

If Mike Anderson is a bad coach in the half court based on losing one game where he scored in the 50's, then so is Greg McDermott, I don't care what either coach did a year ago or 2 years ago. Mike Anderson won COY and Patrick Ewing won the Big East tournament 2 years ago, does anybody care about that right now? This is the 2022-2023 season.
Great post!

I couldn’t see the first 8 minutes where we dug the whole. I imagine it wasn’t all our own doing and that Iowa state came out and executed their game plan right away. Again, I imagine because I didn’t see it. But the whole outscored them from that point on is meaningless except for it being better than getting run out of the gym. And I look for positives everywhere.

Iowa state was comfortable as all hell having a 10-14 point lead. They don’t want to run. They don’t want to force shots. They want to play half court defense and run good offense. They were exactly where they wanted to be, and us out scoring them by 2 points over 32 minutes, when we needed to outscored them by 15, is close to meaningless. It was all the same to Iowa state and they never once looked worried.

If you want to be a team who forces the tempo and relies on playing up and down, you cannot spot a team 10-15 points. Completely counter productive.

Curbelo fouled out with 5 minutes to go. Posh was in foul trouble too. Hard to do it full court when fouls kill you trying to come back and we foul often as is.

Every foul should mean something to this team. If we want to harass the ball handlers and create turnovers we can’t pick up senseless one that will inhibit our ability to do so when it matters.
So sit back and lose because someone might foul out?
I get what your saying about the bad fouls, but this was a roll-over and die second half. Plenty of bodies on the bench to chase the ball, at least make an effort to come back.

I didn’t see us not pressing in the second half. We did manage 38 points in the 2nd against a team who gives up less than 60 per game, I think our pressure has something to do with that. But I get what your saying re not laying down and dying. I don’t think that’s been an issue for this team under CMA.

Nope, just trying to figure out why you were whining for Wusu and then saying you were glad he didn't play. BTW love all the ????????????????????

Didn't we get blown out by Incarnate Word? That was the worst

Easier said than done when you miss your first ten shots

Whining? Not whining at all, let me dumb this down for ya. I was just trying to understand, wondering, was curious about why they both didn’t play? Because your continued posts reek of an agenda the block button will be in order. No need to respond.
