2024-25 Season

Hope this is right, and will be happy to eat crow. That would certainly up our ceiling. I just hate what I see so far, and hate to think it is attitudinal. And, I really hate a sense by a player or team that they can turn it on and off at will. That usually, in the end, fails.
He already did this against Baylor! He scored our last five points, despite fighting cramps, to get to a 2nd OT.

I don't disagree with being a bit disappointed by the up and down nature of his play so far, and the defense/conditioning/free throw shooting, but having a closer like him on this team is going to be huuuuuuge.

I think this is the best team we've had since the Big East championship team. If this team will be special, they will have to turn it up on the offensive glass. We are currently #25 in offensive rebounding and I feel that really needs to be in the top 10 with this group. A little more from Scott, a lot more from Kadary on that end, and Wilcher has to carry his weight. Smith is a huge plus there.

From 3: Wilcher needs more looks, even if we have to call set plays for him. His shot is gorgeous. Dunlap and Scott need to pick better shots. I think they need to wait for drive and kicks as well as skip passes. Scott is twice the shooter when he's squared up and Brady is 10x the shooter when getting inside-out looks.

Smith is the X-factor for me.
I think our offensive rebounding is fine. The defensive rebounding is what has me concerned. I hope we turn a corner in that department.

I don't think that is something we can be good at unfortunately. The ceiling there may just be not being that bad. Prey probably helps out a lot when he earns more minutes.

Wilcher needs to shoot more... his form is nice- he passes on a lot of attempts- would like to see him shoot atleast 5-8/game

I cannot wait for the crow people will be eating about Kadary when he wins us big games in the last four minutes of a game by getting to the line & hitting shots, dishing out assists, and/or getting easy points.
we sure we want him at the line...? lol

On 224 attempts, he's shot 79% from the free throw line in Big East play. I really just think this has been a very weird flukey start.
lets hope so... hes been missing, what feels like a lot, at the rim as well. Granted they arent free/open layups... but feel as though he has made more of those off-balanced/english having layups in the past as well

Yeah, I agree with that too. He's someone with a four year track record, so I don't think we should assume those lay-ups won't start to fall either.

The defense stuff has always been the case at Seton Hall, so I was always expecting him to be more of a corner back on defense than a lock down man-to-man guy (I intentionally didn't use free safety since I don't think he's scrappy enough for that label), but his size makes a big difference at this level.

He’s shooting 49.4% from two. The perception of a missed close up shot is always multiplied. In his case, he is usually the one getting himself there. I’ll take that all day with him.

One of the crazy things about basketball is how negative almost everyone gets (Marillac included) when someone misses a seemingly easy shot. So many big men stop looking for shots after they missed 2-3 in a row after KILLING teams. Always found that puzzling.

21 games to go and taking a look at the entire BE slate + 1 home game against UD, this team should be favored in 16 of them.

The games aren’t played on paper or on a Vegas board but even conservatively getting 14 wins would put us at 22 before the BE tourney. This would be the most successful regular season we’ve had in a quarter century. And frankly I think those 14 wins is more than realistic.

Try not to get down after a bad game or bad half fellas, we are going to experience a level of success the likes of which we haven’t seen in a VERY long time!!

Do you have a protractor that could help determine what seed 22 wins would get us going into the tournament?
