2024-25 Rankings

Where are all of the more deserving teams? So much always depends on bid stealers so way too early to speculate. And while the sec looks loaded, will they still get 10 even 12 teams in? I doubt it.
I'm overstating the case a bit. But it is also clear that the Powers That Be are not going to go out of their way to put Big East teams in the tournament. Be ranked at the end of the season or you won't sleep very well the night before Selection Sunday, I think.

The power and influence of Val Ackerman is to be disregarded at your own peril. 👀

IMO the Power 2 doesn't care about squeezing out well-deserving teams from the Tournament. It'd cause too make backlash if a non-P2 projected 9 seed for instance is left out, and that has yet to happen. The general consensus on Bracket Matrix last year was 3 BE teams, and 3 teams got in.

What the Power 2 is trying to do is dominate through $$$$$. Lucrative TV deals, a consolidation of the top brands into two conferences, NIL, rule changes, etc. So far they've been successful at that with currently 13 projected SEC teams and 11 B1G (both would be records, the BE currently owns it with 11). They want to dominate the Tournament, especially the top seeds.

Is it possible they're going to pop the bubbles of teams right on it, such as St. John's, Seton Hall, or Providence last year? It's possible, yeah (I think that's still TBD), but their focus certainly isn't to cause massive controversy by boxing out a projected 8 seed (non-Top 25).

I’ve been saying the exact same thing since the beginning of the season Lawmanfan. That’s why tonight’s game is of the utmost importance.

I see that Gene has positioned himself at the base of the ladder that leads to the roof hatch just in case it becomes necessary to jump if we lose the opening tip or X scores first. 😉
:ROFLMAO:

True but there were a lot of bid stealers last year. 5 to be exact. St Johns (2nd) and Seton Hall (4th) were in the first four out in the Matrix, Neo. ;)

PS the average bid stealers per year is about 2 or 3, often only 1.

Nova game will not be easy at all. Only thing they don't do well is rebound. Their five guys who play the most minutes all shoot over 80% from the line and 33% or better from three and they don't turn the ball over much.
Rebounding and keeping them off the line will be huge.
Have to run them off the three point line the way we did against DePaul and we cannot let Dixon go off.
