2024-25 Rankings

In the latest AP poll:

#25 Baylor has 139 points
#28 St. John's has 98 points

Difference is 41 points.
61 AP voters voted.
In order to crack the rankings, on average each AP voter would need to move us up 2/3rd of 1 spot (for example, an AP voter moving us from #22 to #21 next week would be 1 spot).

Go 2-0 this week and we'll be ranked next Monday.

We have to win the next 4 to give ourselves some breathing room. Because you know we will lose a game that we should win. It happens to everyone. In order for that game not to kill our metrics we need to win the next 4 games. If we do that then the bad loss won’t kill us. But, if we lose 1 or 2 of these next 4 games which probably leaves us on the bubble then that bad loss is brutal. If we win the next 4 and we are solidly in the Top 25 then the bad loss won’t matter as much because the bad loss won’t knock us out.
just breathe and let the season play out. Respectfully, this post sounds like what you need to keep yourself off the ledge, not what SJU needs. It's not about what order the W's and L's happen in, there isn't some magical threshold of safety we reach in the eyes of the committee if we win our next 4. Let the season play out and we will see what our body of work looks like in March

We have one Quad one win (PC #72), which is teetering on the brink. Win tomorrow would make me feel a lot better

Line 36. St. John's Red Storm (18-12 overall; 5-9 vs. Quad 1)

I looked up from another source and it was 4-10, which surprised me as our quad 1 record seemed even worse. Of course, I see that Miss State and Virginia got invites with 3-8 and 2-6 records, respectively. We also had a Q 3 loss - not likely to happen this year unless we blow the home game to Seton Hall.

The biggest factor in tournament selection is probably not something you're considering. Our big east rep Barry Collier is retired (and probably on some big ten payroll by now) and three new east coast minded non-football conference people are in the room.

That doesn't mean a lousy Q 1 record gets the johnnies in the way Miss State and UVA got in last year, but there's much better odds of not getting screwed.

Win or lose tomorrow why don’t you take a break or at least stop spewing your constant negativity over and over. Some of us find it revolting to hear the same Drabble over and over.
In plain simple English please give it a rest.
