2024-25 Rankings

Yet we have to win our next 4 to get ranked, according to some
We have to win the next 4 to give ourselves some breathing room. Because you know we will lose a game that we should win. It happens to everyone. In order for that game not to kill our metrics we need to win the next 4 games. If we do that then the bad loss won’t kill us. But, if we lose 1 or 2 of these next 4 games which probably leaves us on the bubble then that bad loss is brutal. If we win the next 4 and we are solidly in the Top 25 then the bad loss won’t matter as much because the bad loss won’t knock us out.

If we win 4 in a row, will you be able to relax in the first half of the fifth game? 😁

We’re 11-2 (2-0), ranked in the coaches poll and two buckets away from being undefeated. Our only two losses are to Top-30 NET teams. And yet some here are already freaking out about the bubble and what would happen to our metrics if we don’t win another four in a row. My goodness.

Finally, a voice of reason.

Damn Gene. You used the word if a bunch of times in this post.

We're currently a projected 7/11 seed in bracket matrix. Does no one see the need for wins against sub 60 teams?

All my years following this team, I’ve learned 2 things. Take games one at a time and never assume we’re winning (or losing) against anyone. We can win these next 4 games and everyone be puffing our chests out to getting our doors kicked in the game immediately following them. Who knows?

Considering it’s probably a down year for Creighton losing their best player, I’d be pretty disappointed to lose either game against them. Would it be crushing? Unless they completely crap the bed the rest of the season, is anyone gonna seriously hold that loss against us at the end of the season? Would it be great to get this elusive quad one road BE win? No, no, yes.
