I think we were close as you mention and what was really bizarre is I recall we finished 5h, right behind Seton Hall, who also got passed over.

In this century 3 teams in the final AP poll have been left out of the dance. Far more teams who theoretically should have qualified per NET rankings have been relegated to playing or turning down the NIT.

And the two teams immediately ahead of us in the AP poll (Drake & Dayton) both have games they could easily lose this week.

Now is the time to have Creighton on the schedule. They are reeling a little bit. McD will get his team back in order, doesn't hurt to have the at @ Creighton game soon.
 
We don’t play either UCONN or Marquette for the first time until February 4. Over our next 10 games, 6 are at home and best teams we play are Creighton and Xavier. No reason we shouldn’t go 8-2 and go into the toughest part of our schedule 18-4. Time to take advantage of a favorable schedule.
