2024-25 Rankings

For AP ranking’s you have to look at teams that could possibly pass us as well. I think we need to win at Creighton to get ranked.

No one said they did. But for all the reasons SJU Dave has eloquently stated they determine relevance at the present time including enhanced media coverage which is very helpful to the program.
They haven't been relevant since the advent of the selection committee, of which not a single member belongs to the Associated Press. Networks determine media coverage and they are well aware of how collegiate sports teams are performing, in every sport.

Simply not true. When you look at scores on ESPN, it defaults to scores of teams ranked in the AP top 25 as does the sports shows on ESPN and ESPN2. Forgetting about who gets into the dance being ranked in the AP top 25’during the year is relevant.

If you're still watching Soortscenter and Joe Lunardi, I can't help you

Quad 1* when we play them on the road…

Only 2 quad 1 home games it’s lookin like (top 30)

Neutral site - Top 50 counts as Q1…

Now I have no idea about quad 1A/B lol… please correct me if I’m wrong

Tom - you're missing the point. While AP is not technically relevant for tourney, it still has high visibility to both the hardcore and casual fan. That goes long way in media for both the sport team and school overall reputation.
Only my father still looks at the AP polls, mainly because he's the same age as their voters.
