2023-24 Roster

You think he can guard college 2’s?

Plus you’re inherently opposed to “pf’s” who can shoot. Can’t think of it like that. There will be times when there’s a center on the court + 4 other guys, and out of them Brady will be the tallest. I’d say many more times than the opposite situation of him being the 2nd guard on the court. There are way too many talented guards 6’2- 6’5.
Unless RP has changed after his Greek stint, I think we’ll see Dunlap playing almost exclusively at the 3. I’m not inherently opposed to 4’s that can shoot, but it’s not high on my checklist. In a dream scenario you have a guy like Melo that can do it all playing the four.

PG - Jenkins (1)
SG - Alleyne (1)
SF - Taylor Jr (2)
PF - Slazinski (1)
C - Soriano (1)

Bench - Conway (1)
Bench - Davis (3)
Bench - Keita (4)
Bench - Traore (3)

Years remaining in ()

Current main targets and where they slot in if they commit:
Mgbako (Starts at PF, bumps Slazinski to bench)
Dingle (Starts at SG, bumps Alleyne to 1st G off bench)
Mahoney (10th or 11th)
I'm getting concerned that we are running out of roster spots :)

Would you think he has a better chance guarding Aaron wheeler or Jordan Dingle?

C’mon, he knows everything about Pitino
Obviously I’ve never made anything close to that claim, but I have taken time to look over his rosters at Louisville and they were remarkably consistent with some very clear patterns. It looks like he builds out 3 position groups in the aggregate. He almost always had a traditional lunch pale PF at the 4 which is is stark contrast to our last three coaches and the trend in basketball over the last 3 decades.

But I haven’t seen him coach a full game since he got back from Europe. Maybe he has evolved as a coach after working with those skilled big men.

😂 He’s not going to be guarding combos. If that’s your reservation, then I co-sign. I’d rather have him guarding Soriano than Dingle.
Is the ncaa not chalk full of 2 guard lineups? 3 guard lineups are more common than a traditional 5 & 4.

I mean it seems pretty obvious we're going one in, four out like the 88-89 Knicks.

Welcome back Bomb Squad.

I have little doubt Dunlap makes an enormous jump physically from freshman to sophomore year.

He is a coach’s son who came here to develop under Pitino. He will do what it takes to improve.
How do you know what he is thinking? Bad enough your basketball observations but now you are a psychologist? I mean you may turn out right but you have no idea.
I mean when I went to College it was to play baseball but in the end my focus was on drinking beer and getting laid. Maybe that will be Dunlap’s path.

You must be a lot younger then me bexaue when I was in college, playing baseball, drinking and getting laid were not mutually exclusive.

I’d roll out 4 or even 5 guards if they are the best five personally. I love 3 guard lineups and I would have played 6’7 Francisco Garcia at the 4. I’m just trying to predict what Pitino will do based on his run at Louisville. He seems to love big wings.

I don’t have an issue with Slazinski playing stretch 4 against the right personnel. I think he will pair well with Taylor Jr. But I want that junkyard dog and I think Pitino does too. If we just look at his own words today he said “we need a power forward.”

Congratulations your flat joke.

Congratulations your flat joke.
See I know you came here to post basketball stuff that is your main focus. Your dad was a basketball forum poster and you came here to post basketball stuff. I guarantee by Dunlap’s Sophomore year you will get better at it.
