Main targets as of now and where they slot in if they commit:
Mgbako (Lock to start at PF)
Ledlum (Lock to start at SF or PF)
Demary (Starts along Jenkins, both as Combo Guards)
Thomasson (Starts at SG or first G off the bench in instant offense type role)
Cormac Ryan (Likely starting SF)
Glenn Taylor (Could start at the 3 or be first wing off the bench)
Dunlap (Mid bench piece)
Meyer (Probably slots in between Davis and Traore)
Expecting to finally update this tomorrow

Wow that one is a complete loss. 4 games played average no points. Lost all faith now first pinzon, then cuerbelo, now THIS. Parker williams was an excellent bench warmer who i heard handed out towels very well. Not to disrespect the walk on, but this is the first i have ever heard his name. I guess we are going to be getting better walks on too lol

hey NJ ….. not sure what jollies you get by mocking a kid who travelled from Alabama to attend StJohn’s, who may have like attending StJohn’s, who showed up every practice and busted his @ss against the scholarship players and now whose academic life is being uprooted from friends as a result of coaching change.

Your post says more about you than it does about transferee Parker Williams. Capache?

Question:

Is there a set date that rosters gotta be finalized?

I seen some post that the roster will be finalized by June 1st, so I'm wondering.

Current main targets and where they slot in if they commit:
Mgbako (Starts at PF, bumps Slazinski to bench)
Dingle (Starts at SG, bumps Alleyne to 1st G off bench)
Thomasson (Starts at SG or 1st G off bench)
Dunlap (Mid bench piece)
Mahoney (10th or 11th)

Assuming RJ Luis is out of the picture with Taylor on board.
Thomasson seeming unlikely.

Correct on Luis and Thomasson and highly doubtful SJ lands Mgbako imo

This is a solid squad. Dingle would put us up a notch and Dunlap would be another awesome building block. I’m not going to have faith in Mgbako coming but I’m curious if anyone else emerges between now and June.

Zach said they’re looking for a starting PF who can space the floor next to Soriano. If not Mgbako, then who? Also that implies Pitino knows Slazinski is better off coming off the bench

I think they will have a competent PF option in time.

FT% from last year, all players from last year and next year. Bolded are players on next year's team.

Alleyne 87.1%
Conway 87.0%
Taylor Jr. 80.1%
Jenkins 78.6%

Jones 78.5%
Davis 76.3%
Slazinski 75.0%

Storr 75.0%
Soriano 73.0%
Alexander 72.4%
Curbelo 70.5%
Addae-Wusu 69.1%
Mathis 67.6%
Pinzon 64.3%
Stanley 55.6%
King 54.5%
Nyiwe 28.6%

Traore N/A
Keita N/A

Simpson N/A
Williams N/A

So, out of players who played significant minutes (not counting the last 4 players who were all <3.5 MPG and didn't shoot any FT), 7 out of 17 players are on next year's team, and all of those 7 players rank within the top 9 (out of 17). There are 8 players from last year who were lower than anyone on next year's team. Just one stat, but it's something that will obviously transition regardless of level. It'll also be a relief to actually want to see players go to the line.

But yeah, team of role players. Pitino doesn't know who he wants.
