2023-2024 Schedule

I think that is a function of being at the Barclays which nobody wants to go to. If it were at MSG, I think it would have been a different story. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand them. I just think the game would bring in a lot of money. I’d rather get Duke in there like we used to of course, hut we need to pack the Garden and get back to a solid ROI.
MSG is def better than barclays for a bunch of reasons, and I agree cuse @ MSG would sell well. I think barclays attendance is also historically bad b/c it's not part of the ticket package. it seems crazy to have to buy tickets for a home game after paying $$$ for "season" tickets so I don't (and presumably others feel the same).

For me and just me you can put 10 Barclays games in it I’ll go to. 3 that’s just because of where I live

Ideally you want a top opponent who also has an alumni presence in NY. Michigan will prove to be that in Nov. They played SJU in the late nineties at the Nassau Coliseum and I remember being surprised at the crowd, fourteen thousand, and the number of Michigan fans in attendance.

That’s fair but what’s their draw to us
From travel prospect for our fans great city and they have solid home court. ( tough game) Fan base they some east coast transplants could play them at MSG or Barclays. Be solid team for doubleheader. Indiana at MSG would be another school.

Agree here which is why we have to identify those. Duke, Cuse, and UConn, Kansas have been the few that have proven they can pack it. Maybe Michigan, unc and some others. Gotta get those teams on the schedule (at MSG) because they keep the lights on, whether we like them or not.

MSU probably too

I’d say that’s first thier for sure I’d be open to a second tier of teams. We have kids from Texas on our roster I’d strongly consider some Texas exposure

As far a schools who are fine with a game at MSG I would have one list. And that list would be more expansive. For schools that insist on a home-and-home I would have a much smaller list. And Syracuse, who I believe would want a home-and-home doesn’t make the cut for me.

I worked in NYC for forty years and worked with so many Michigan graduates over the years I don’t know the number. This game is going to really sell.

Zach corrected the tweet to Nov 7th. On my birthday, would've loved to go, but will be in the Smokey Mountains in between weddings

Best guess schedule v3.0
11/7 v Stony Brook at CA
TBA 11/10 or 11 Last Buy game at CA
11/13 v Michigan at MSG Gavitt Games
11/16-17-19 Charleston Classic - Brackets TBA
Thanksgiving Break
12/1 @ WVU BE/B12 Challenge
12/6 v Sacred Heart @ CA
12/10 v BC @ Barclays
Finals 12/11-16
12/16 v Fordham @ MSG
BE Game #1 Window, 12/19-23
Christmas Break
BE Game #2 Window 12/26 or 27
12/29 v Hofstra @ UBS

I still assume last buy in game will be a warm up game v relative cupcake pre Michigan based on the BE playing at least 2 BE games in December (there were four last year but given what's on the scheduled already I can't see St Johns fitting in a third nor playing on NYE again with a game against Hofstra schedule for the 29 and the fact that it's a sport filled weekend but who knows. Plus an exhibition early in November @ CA.
