The 2023-24 schedule is clearly an upgrade over those during the CMA regimeEasy win, and the Holy Cross name means more to me than crap low majors not located in the Northeast.
I'm very happy with what I see schedule wise.
Most important thing about the schedule is where we are playingThe 2023-24 schedule is clearly an upgrade over those during the CMA regime
More games against power conference schools
Also nice to see us play locals like Fordham and Hofstra
I'd like to see us rotate 2 locals into our schedule each year (Iona, Manhattan, Marist, etc)
Much better than having us play Central Connecticut State or New Hampshire
I think the difference at the top is being a bit exaggerated as well. But the hofstras and fordhams are 100x better than the Merrimack’s.I dunno this schedule really isn’t that impressive to me. If Anderson was still coaching, I feel people would be blasting him for another cupcake schedule.
Charleston Classic was agreed too before Pitino.
Yeah I think the schedule is *fine*, and a slight step up from Anderson. Charleston Classic is fine. But Boston College is not going to move the needle, they haven’t made the tournament since 2008 and as far as I know, aren’t primed to have a break out year. Michigan is out of Pitino’s hands but they seem due to have a down year with all of their issues. I don’t find playing Fordham or Hofstra exciting either — one of those games should be another top 25 preseason team.I dunno this schedule really isn’t that impressive to me. I'm thinking all of the non-conference games above except Michigan-Gavitt, Charleston Classic & West VA-BE/B12 Challenge would be included in the full season ticket packages, is that correct? I love the summer but I wish it was the fall already!!!Best guess schedule v3.0
11/7 v Stony Brook at CA
TBA 11/10 or 11 Last Buy game at CA
11/13 v Michigan at MSG Gavitt Games
11/16-17-19 Charleston Classic - Brackets TBA
Thanksgiving Break
12/1 @ WVU BE/B12 Challenge
12/6 v Sacred Heart @ CA
12/10 v BC @ Barclays
Finals 12/11-16
12/16 v Fordham @ MSG
BE Game #1 Window, 12/19-23
Christmas Break
BE Game #2 Window 12/26 or 27
12/29 v Hofstra @ UBS
I still assume last buy in game will be a warm up game v relative cupcake pre Michigan based on the BE playing at least 2 BE games in December (there were four last year but given what's on the scheduled already I can't see St Johns fitting in a third nor playing on NYE again with a game against Hofstra schedule for the 29 and the fact that it's a sport filled weekend but who knows. Plus an exhibition early in November @ CA.
I assume Michigan is included, but not sure about the Barclays and UBS games.I'm thinking all of the non-conference games above except Michigan-Gavitt, Charleston Classic & West VA-BE/B12 Challenge would be included in the full season ticket packages, is that correct? I do agree that I would rather play local cupcakes compared to non-local cupcakes. With that said a cupcake is still a cupcake.I think the difference at the top is being a bit exaggerated as well. But the hofstras and fordhams are 100x better than the Merrimack’s.
Plus the Charleston makes it better than any of the past 3 years and I don’t care who got us in it.
Agree mostly but stony Brook was 326 last year. Right up there with the dregs of the schedule you mentioned.I think it's a perfectly good non conference schedule if we win the games we are supposed to. Unless we draw Houston early we need to get to the Finals. The teams we will play aren't great on paper but several could have good seasons.
West Virginia on the road is a quality game.
Michigan wasn't great last year and doesn't look great this year but the Big 10 is always competitive and they could surprise. I would have preferred playing Wisconsin or Maryland or if you wanted a big challenge Michigan State but Michigan wouldn't be a bad win.
The BC game is ok if we win.
StonyBrook, Hofstra and Fordham are far superior then the 300 ranked teams we normally play. Sacred Heart is the only team like that this season.
Hopefully we get a shot at Houston and can win a good share of the games. It should set us up well for the Big East. The team needs to come together.
That's fair, their program collapsed last year when they moved to the CAA. I think it's more likely they will improve then Central Connecticut or Mississippi Valley.Agree mostly but stony Brook was 326 last year. Right up there with the dregs of the schedule you mentioned.

Why are you excluding the CC (where we may play 3 good teams) but including last years tourney where we played Cute and Temple 2 of your 4 teams listed in claiming last years schedule had the edge? The West Virginia and Michigan game I don’t believe we get a say in who we play just like last year’s Nebraska and Iowa State games. Slight edge to this year’s games going by history of schools.
Nos excluding the Charlestown Classic this year we play Hofstra, BC and Fordham. Last year we had Syracuse, Florida State, Niagara and Temple on the schedule. Big edge to last year’s schedule if everyone is being honest.
None of them were particularly good last season. If we were a bubble team, they would not have helped up.Last year we had Syracuse, Florida State, Niagara and Temple on the schedule.
Good call, I forgot they were apart of the Empire Classic. But even if you remove them next year’s schedule isn’t improved from last year’s which was the main point. Why are you excluding the CC (where we may play 3 good teams) but including last years tourney where we played Cute and Temple 2 of your 4 teams listed in claiming last years schedule had the edge?
True but Syracuse and Florida State are usually decent teams compared to BC.None of them were particularly good last season. If we were a bubble team, they would not have helped up.
