2022 Yankees

Annnnnnnd! Besides hitting # 60 and Judge-Stanton walk off magic bringing victory tonight, if season ended today ,Judge wins AL Triple Crown, as he now has highest BA in AL ,as well as leading in 9 other offensive categories and record smashing home runs!

Loved the energy and celebration after the Stanton game winner. Hopefully this injects the Yankees with the enthusiasm and energy they need to make a great post season run. They seem to have great team chemistry and camaraderie.

Great comeback win, but I have to say it. EVERY. YANKEE. RELIEVER. WAS. HORRIBLE. TONIGHT. Except Chapman. A real concern going forward.
The bullpen has been inconsistent all year, but it's always been as a group. They're either all doing great, or all doing lousy, at the same time. Holmes, especially, continues to struggle. He had a great first three months, but maybe that was all it was.

Stanton can be really frustrating, but he can also turn it around very quickly. His timing may have come back on that 2-1 pitch that he fouled off. He was right on it. I was surprised the pitcher went there again, on the next one.

I gotta give some guff to the kid who gave Judge the ball. They saying it could be worth between 50-500K. I mean Judge is going to put it in the man cave and forget about it.

Judge is getting $400mil and looking out for himself. Even if this kid sells it for 250K that's a down payment on a house after taxes.

Hate to be a cynic (well not really hate) but it's just a harsh truth of the world.

He won't sell it. He's going to keep it for his collection.

Yankee Transactions:

Weissert optioned to Scranton and Peralta to the 10 day IL (bad back).

Effross and Britton activated from the IL.

Love the win to clinch a playoff spot. But man, this bullpen has me really concerned. Even Holmes dodged a bullet thanks to Judge's great throw. The one guy I had faith in was Schmidt, but he obviously had nothing tonight.
By default, Britton should be the closer, and Effros the guy to face key batters in the late innings.

And Andujar DFA'ed. Disappointing they never at least traded him for some asset. Good bat but average in the field at best.
That was the move they made to get Britton back on the 40 man (I missed it) since he was on the 60 DL which doesn't count as a roster spot.

Shame, I followed him through his ML career before he got here and after the first year expected huge things from him. Maybe he can tap into it elsewhere.

Dury, starting 3rd basemen, suffers migraines and gets injured. Andujar takes over and Dury never gets the job back. Andujar has great numbers on offense his first year, gets hurt the next year, Urshela takes over, Andujar has season ending surgery and never gets the job back. If I'm Donaldson, I am looking over my shoulder.
