3 more years! One of the worst signings. Cannot see hicks playing until there on the road againIn case anyone is curious, Hicks has 3yrs/$30M remaining on his contract.
Supposedly starting @ 3:20Much needed win yesterday. Couldn't have asked for a better start. Need to keep it going if and when they play today. Nice outing by Taillon. Donaldson needs to have a lot more kids.
Look what happens to offense when Stanton back in lineup protecting Judge!game 140. back to back and belly to belly.
8 to 1, bombers. update 10 to 1.
the new assistant batting coach, hicks, has turned the yankee bats on.
its merely the 2nd inning and the yanks have already outscored the jets.
This weekend is why you stick with Stanton, even if he's 0 for 25 with 13 K's, or something like that. He is literally capable of turning it around at any point, no matter how bad he looks, sometimes.Look what happens to offense when Stanton back in lineup protecting Judge!
Not only is Aaron Judge leading American League in Homers,RBI,TB, WAR,OBP,Walks, SLG,OPS, Runs, but he is 5th in AVG!
12 th in Stolen Bases!
4th in Hits!
That’s pretty much every offensive category! And is approaching a new Yankee HR record! His year is not merely an MVP year, but it’s one for the ages! MVP vote should be unanimous imo without it being the least bit of a slight to Otani. We’d all be lucky if Judge could come close to this again next year. His swing and hit connect rate reminds me of how dominant Bonds was in year he hit 73 home runs although I believe Bonds was better that year.
Thanks 1982 for pointing out how dominant those offensive numbers are . I did not mention his defense because I was trying to find stats but couldn’t . But he plays a flawless centerfield where he has saved many a pitcher a base hit on his pursuit in the short field and going back after balls in back of him as well. His arm has also been great! He leads the AL in home runs by 20 (over Mike Trout, who's only gotten that close, thanks to this recent tear), in RBIs by 12 (and by 28 over the third place guy), and in runs scored by 27. He leads in total bases by 71, in slugging percentage by 90 points, and OPS by 101 points!
The last guy to dominate offensively like this was Mickey Mantle in 1956, and even he only won the RBI crown by 2 (though there was a large gap between Al Kaline in second, and Vic Wertz in third).
Yes, I know, Ohtani pitches and he doesn't, but how many home runs has Ohtani robbed in the outfield? And frankly, doing what he does offensively helps the pitchers. Until recently, it was giving them a margin of error to work with. That's important.
