2022 Yankees

Not a good start to this game. You cannot split this series against a terrible team and pitching staff. Once again, for 2 successive games, the offense is nonexistent. Who is going to step up and help get a win?

Yanks in a nutshell-it seems every time I’m watching them go into extra innings and they start off with runner on second and no outs by the time I look back up at the tv they have one out and runner on first and haven’t scored. Just pitiful baseball

So this friggin team wins 3 games against good teams, starts off this series with a lopsided win, then basically goes into a coma the last 3 games, luckily winning one. Another baserunning mistake today. Schmidt puts them in a hole early allowing 3 2 out runs. Even Judge had the offensive disease today. Pitiful. Anyone with ideas this team is going to make a deep playoff run is absolutely nuts. It ain't happening. Lack of leadership on this team is telling. Feels like they are just going through the motions. Now they go to the hot Angels for 3 games, before 3 at the Rays. Oh boy. Things are going to get tighter the way they are playing.

I love how Yankees are going to fubar Schmidt like they did Joba. He's lights out from the pen and they are going to stretch him to be a starter. Don't fix what isn't broken.

I’m disappointed like everyone else, but it’s tough to sustain any kind of momentum with five .220 hitters in the lineup. Stanton, Rizzo, Donaldson, and yesterday Hicks and Higgs. They all cannot bat ninth.

Well, they actually overachieved yesterday, since those five were a combined 4 for 16 (.250). That's not great, but that's better than the 0 for 15 the four "good" hitters combined for.

Not for nothing, but I am not excited by the prospect of 4 more years of DJ LeMahieu. I didn't like giving him six years when it was announced (I would have given him more AAV for less years, luxury tax be damned), and his body already looks like it's breaking down, about 1/3rd of the way into the contract. This is his second straight mediocre season, and at 34 years old, why would we expect that to significantly change in the future?

First time in a long time that our loss column lead in the AL East, does not exceed the number of games we have left vs. said opponent. It's now a six game loss column lead vs Tampa, with six to play.

Officially a race in the AL East, again.

game 129. the 5th inning. a tale of 2 teams.
top - IKF has lead off double. no runs.
bottom. 2 outs/no one on. single. 1 and 2 count on ohtani. 2 run homer. game.
at start of game, dj has higher bavg than 5 yanks/7 angels.
dj sac bunts in the 1st yank run. half of mlb cant spell bunt.
bravo $99.

Right now, here's how you pitch to the Yankees.

Start with slow stuff. Then go slower.

After having success going away with off-soeed pitches, go inside with the slow stuff.

You want to keep the ball down, but if it's up, make sure it's an off-speed pitch up (preferably out of the strike zone).

If you want to change speeds to give our guys a different look, than take something off, velocity-wise.

i would pitch them sliders, low and away. keep them below the knees and outside the plate.
guarantee a 19 k outing.
i would not sweat it, if someone gets on base. they will most likely then make a running blooper.

The inability of this offense, and the inability of an entire pitching staff to close down an inning when the opponent has 2 outs is ridiculous. Find a way to pick a team up and get out of a friggin inning. Last night in the postgame Boone thought DJLM's bunt was a good play. Really? Granted it resulted in a run, but it also took the bat out of Judge's hands. Expect to see more and more more intentional walks for Judge as the season goes on. Oh, and Boone referred to that Yankees run as a "point". He's already checked oit looking forward to the football season. In the last 5 games, the Yanks have faced starting pitching that no one has ever heard of, that had ERAs really high, and that they couldn't manufacture runs against. Expect it to continue once again. Rays are already up big tonight. By the end of the weekend, the Division lead could be practically gone. Unbelievable.
